The answer, as recorded

Here's how I'd actually rank these, by where your store sits - "best OMS" depends almost entirely on order volume and how many channels you sell on. ## If you're on Shopify and under ~1,000 orders/month **1. Shopify's native order management + Shopify Flow.** Start here before buying anything. Shopify Plans start at $29/mo and the built-in order editing, multi-location inventory, and Flow automations (auto-tag fraud orders, route by location, hold-and-release) cover more than most people realize. Adding an OMS at this stage usually buys complexity, not capability. **2. ShipStation** - ~$14.99/mo. Not a true OMS, but if your real pain is "printing labels and picking carriers across Shopify + Amazon + eBay," it solves the actual problem for a fraction of the price. Best for small teams without a back-office staff. ## If you're multichannel and doing $1M+ (the sweet spot where a real OMS pays off) **3. Cin7** - my default recommendation for most growing stores. Cin7 Core handles inventory, purchasing, B2B *and* D2C order flows, light manufacturing, and accounting integrations with 100+ sales channels. Cin7 Omni steps up to EDI and 3PL connections when you outgrow Core, so you're not re-platforming in two years. **4. Linnworks** - pick this over Cin7 if you're marketplace-heavy (Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Etsy). It does listing management alongside order and inventory control, which the others don't. Pricing is by monthly order volume with no percentage fees - but watch the overage charges and per-module add-ons. **5. Brightpearl by Sage** - the most "all-in-one" of the mid-market options: order management, inventory, WMS, accounting, purchasing, and CRM in one system. Vendor explicitly targets $1M+ revenue retailers. Worth it if you want to retire several tools at once; overkill otherwise. **6. Katana** - only if you manufacture or assemble what you sell. Production scheduling tied to sales orders is something Cin7 Core only does lightly. **7. Zoho Inventory** - the budget multichannel pick, especially if you're already in the Zoho ecosystem. Capable, cheap, and the weakest on complex fulfillment logic. ## Enterprise / true distributed order management **8. Fluent Commerce** - my pick at this tier. Cloud-native and API-first since day one, event-driven architecture, strong split-shipment handling, and named a Leader in the Forrester Wave for Order Management Systems (Q1 2025). Best for complex ship-from-store / BOPIS orchestration. **9. Manhattan Active Order Management** - the incumbent heavyyweight for large omnichannel operations spanning stores, DCs, and 3PLs. Deepest functionality, longest implementation; its cloud transition is more recent than Fluent's. **10. Salesforce Order Management** - really only the right answer if you're already on Salesforce Commerce Cloud. Integrates via cartridge; convenient rather than best-in-class. **11. Blue Yonder** - large global retailers and manufacturers with supply-chain planning needs beyond order routing. **One practical warning:** Brightpearl, Linnworks, Fluent, and most enterprise options have moved to quote-only pricing in the last couple of years, so budget time for sales calls. And filter hard on implementation timeline - anything over ~4 weeks at the mid-market tier is a red flag. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
