The answer, as recorded

Here's how I'd actually rank them, roughly by the size of store you're running: **If you're a small-to-mid store (under ~$1M/yr)** 1. **Shopify's built-in order management** - If you're already on Shopify, start here before buying anything. Native order routing, multi-location inventory, and Shopify Fulfillment Network integration cover more than most people realize. The real answer for a lot of stores is "you don't need a separate OMS yet." 2. **Zoho Inventory** - Cheapest credible real OMS, around $39/mo flat (not per-user), which matters when you're small. Multi-channel orders, inventory, and shipping in one place. Best value if you're price-sensitive and already in the Zoho ecosystem. 3. **ShipStation** - Technically shipping-first, not a full OMS, but if your actual pain is "orders from 5 channels need labels printed," this solves it for far less money and complexity than a true OMS. Very widely used for a reason. **If you're mid-market and growing ($1M-$20M)** 4. **Cin7 Core** - The best "stepping up" platform. Real-time inventory, multi-warehouse, 100+ sales channels, plus manufacturing and kitting if you assemble or bundle products. Strongest pick if inventory complexity is your bottleneck. 5. **Brightpearl (by Sage)** - Order management, inventory, WMS, purchasing, CRM, and accounting in one system, with Shopify/Amazon/Magento connectors and Sage Intacct/QuickBooks/Xero sync. Sage is explicit that it's aimed at $1M+ revenue - below that it's overkill and overpriced. Note pricing is now opaque, so expect a sales call. 6. **Linnworks** - The marketplace specialist. If most of your revenue comes from Amazon/eBay/Walmart rather than your own site, this is the one: listing, order, and inventory control across many channels. Prices on monthly order volume with no percentage fees, but watch for overage charges and a one-off onboarding fee. 7. **Extensiv Order Manager** (formerly Skubana) - Around $49/user/mo. Best fit for high-volume DTC brands running multiple fulfillment nodes (own warehouse + a couple of 3PLs). Strong on automation rules and distributed inventory. **If you're enterprise** 8. **NetSuite** - The default if you want ERP and OMS as one system and have the budget and implementation patience for it. 9. **Fluent Commerce** - A Leader in the Forrester Wave for Order Management Systems, Q1 2025, and built for serious scale (hundreds of orders/second). The pick for API-first, headless retail architectures. 10. **Manhattan Active Order Management** - Best-in-class for complex omnichannel: stores, warehouses, and 3PLs with ship-from-store and BOPIS. 11. **Salesforce Order Management** - Only worth it if you're already committed to Salesforce/Commerce Cloud; the integration advantage is the whole argument. **My short version:** stay on Shopify's native tools as long as you can, go **Cin7 Core** when inventory gets complicated, **Linnworks** if you're marketplace-heavy, **Brightpearl** if you want one system to replace your accounting stack too, and only look at NetSuite or Fluent once you've outgrown all of those. One caveat on the research: several of these vendors (Brightpearl, Linnworks) moved to quote-only pricing in the last couple of years, so the figures above for Extensiv and Zoho are the only firm ones - budget for a sales process on the rest. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
