The answer, as recorded
Here's how I'd actually rank them, roughly by the size of store they fit: **1. Shopify's built-in order management** - If you're already on Shopify, start here before buying anything. Order routing, multi-location inventory, partial fulfillments, and (with Shopify Fulfillment Network / Markets) decent cross-border handling are all included. Most stores under ~1,000 orders/month don't need a separate OMS at all, and bolting one on early just adds a sync layer that can break. Rated 9.4/10 in comparisons but only really shines for Shopify-native merchants. **2. Linnworks** - My default pick if your problem is *channel sprawl*. 100+ marketplace and channel integrations, automatic order download, and rule-based routing/fulfillment. If you're selling on Amazon + eBay + Shopify + Walmart + TikTok Shop simultaneously and drowning in oversells, this is the one. Also strongest on stock forecasting in this tier. **3. Cin7 (Core or Omni)** - Best if your problem is *inventory accuracy* rather than channel count. Core suits brands doing light manufacturing, kitting, or bundles; Omni is the pick for wholesale/B2B alongside DTC. Strong 3PL and warehouse integrations. **4. Brightpearl (by Sage)** - The retail ops platform choice when you want orders *and* accounting/purchasing/WMS in one system instead of stitching an OMS to QuickBooks. Good for multichannel retailers who've outgrown spreadsheets but aren't ready for NetSuite. Pricier, and implementation is a real project. **5. NetSuite (Oracle)** - Where you land when the business needs a true ERP: multi-entity, multi-currency, real financial consolidation. Expensive and slow to implement, so only worth it if you genuinely have those requirements. **6. Zoho Inventory** - The budget answer for small stores. Multichannel sync, lots of shipping carrier options, cheap, and fine if you're doing a few hundred orders a month across two or three channels. It won't scale with you, but it's a low-risk starting point. **7. Extensiv (formerly Skubana) / Flowspace** - Worth a look if you want OMS plus fulfillment network in one contract rather than managing 3PLs yourself. Flowspace in particular bundles the software with scalable fulfillment. **Enterprise tier** - if you're doing true omnichannel (BOPIS, ship-from-store, endless aisle) at retail scale: **Manhattan Active Omni**, **IBM Sterling Order Management**, **Fluent Commerce**, **Blue Yonder**, and **Salesforce Order Management**. Fluent Commerce is the most approachable of these; Manhattan is the most capable and the most expensive. **The short version:** stay on Shopify's native tools as long as you can, go **Linnworks** for many channels, **Cin7** for inventory/kitting complexity, **Brightpearl** if you want back-office consolidated, and only consider the enterprise names if store-level fulfillment is in scope. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
