Verify a vacation rental listing

While you wait - how to verify it yourself

• Never pay a deposit by bank transfer, crypto, or gift card to someone you have not verified.
• Ask for a live video tour - cloners cannot show you the inside of a property they don't control.
• Search a few distinctive sentences of the listing in quotes; clones often appear on multiple sites.
• Reverse-image-search the photos (Google Lens or TinEye) - the same pictures on two different rentals is the classic clone sign.
• Check that the host's profile is old, reviewed, and consistent across the platform.
• Pay only through the booking platform's own checkout - never off-platform.
