The answer, as recorded

The honest headline: the right OMS depends almost entirely on your order volume and how many sales channels you're on. Here's how I'd actually rank them, grouped by where you are. ## If you're small (one or two channels, under ~1,000 orders/month) **1. Your store platform's built-in tools + ShipStation.** Don't buy an OMS yet. Shopify/BigCommerce native order management plus ShipStation (from ~$15/mo, tiered by shipment volume) covers multi-channel order aggregation from Shopify, Amazon, eBay, and Etsy in one queue, with label printing and automation rules. Real knock: the navigation isn't intuitive and setup takes longer than it should. **2. Zoho Inventory.** Cheapest credible real OMS. Order + inventory sync across channels, and a free tier for low volume. Good if you want inventory discipline without a $300/mo commitment. Weaker automation than the bigger tools. ## If you're growing (3+ channels, meaningful volume) **3. Extensiv Order Manager (formerly Skubana).** My top pick for high-volume DTC brands on multiple channels. Its "Orderbots" rules engine handles routing, tagging, and dispatch automatically, and reviewers consistently rate it easier to set up and administer than Linnworks. No published pricing - expect a sales call. **4. Cin7 (Core/Omni).** The most pricing-transparent of the serious tools: Core Standard starts at **$349/mo** for 6,000 orders/year, with published order limits per plan. Pick this if you need inventory, purchasing, and orders in one system and want to know the bill before the demo. **5. Brightpearl by Sage.** Purpose-built for multichannel retail - centralized orders, inventory, and analytics, with native Shopify, Amazon, and Magento integrations plus accounting/ERP hooks. Strong dashboards. Best fit for retail/wholesale hybrids rather than pure DTC. **6. Linnworks.** The broadest scope - it creates and manages marketplace *listings*, not just orders, alongside stock sync and label printing. Worth it if marketplace listing management is a real job for you. Pricing isn't public, and it rates behind Extensiv on usability. **7. Katana.** Narrow but excellent: if you *manufacture* what you sell, its production-plus-orders model beats everything above. Ignore it otherwise. ## If you're enterprise **8. Fluent Commerce.** A Leader in *The Forrester Wave™: Order Management Systems, Q1 2025*, cloud-native distributed OMS, handling 675+ orders/second and 4.1B+ API calls daily. The default answer for serious omnichannel retail. **9. Manhattan Active Order Management.** Best for complex omnichannel across stores, warehouses, and 3PLs - ship-from-store, BOPIS, and endless-aisle logic are its home turf. **10. Salesforce Order Management.** Only if you're already a Salesforce Commerce Cloud shop. The integration is the entire argument. **11. NetSuite.** Not really an OMS - it's an ERP with order management inside. Choose it when finance and operations consolidation matters more than best-in-class fulfillment logic. One caution on the vendor-blog stats floating around (e.g. "40% faster processing, 60% fewer mistakes"): those are marketing figures, not independent benchmarks. Treat them as directional at best.
