The answer, as recorded

Here's how I'd rank them for a small business, with the caveat that a lot of the "best password manager" listicles that surface are affiliate-driven - verify pricing on the vendor's own page before you buy. **1. Bitwarden Teams - $4/user/month** (Enterprise ~$6). My default recommendation for most small businesses. Open-source, independently audited, cheapest credible option with real admin controls (groups, collections, policy enforcement, event logs). You also get directory sync and optional self-hosting if you ever want it. The admin console is less polished than 1Password's, and the Teams tier doesn't include SSO - that's the jump to Enterprise. **2. 1Password Business - $7.99/user/month.** The one to pick if ease of use matters more than price, which for a 5-30 person non-technical team it usually does. Best-in-class apps, genuinely good onboarding, strong secrets management for dev teams, and every employee gets a free family plan - which matters because personal password reuse is how business accounts actually get breached. There's a Teams Starter Pack at a flat $19.95/month for up to 10 users, which is excellent value if you're under that headcount. **3. Keeper Business - ~$3.75-7/user/month** depending on tier and seat count. Strongest compliance story of the three: FedRAMP authorized, SOC 2, granular role enforcement and detailed reporting. Pick this if you're in a regulated space or responding to vendor security questionnaires. Downside is that useful features (dark web monitoring, privileged access) are paid add-ons, so the real price creeps up. **4. Proton Pass Business - roughly $2-4/user/month.** Worth a look if you're EU-based or privacy posture is part of your pitch - Swiss jurisdiction, end-to-end encrypted, bundles with Proton Mail/Drive if you want to consolidate. Less mature admin tooling than the three above. **5. NordPass Business - ~$3.99/user/month.** Fine product, competitive price, decent admin panel. I list it last of the viable options mostly because Bitwarden does the same job for less with a better transparency track record. **Who I'd skip:** LastPass. Still the most-recommended name in old listicles, but after the 2022 breach in which encrypted vaults were exfiltrated, there's no reason to choose it when Bitwarden and 1Password exist at similar or lower cost. **Practical note:** whichever you pick, the thing that determines whether this works is enforcing MFA on the vault itself and having a documented recovery/offboarding process. A $4 tool that's configured properly beats an $8 tool that isn't.
