The question asked, verbatim: best maintenance management software for manufacturers

Brands named, in the order the engine gave

  1. OxMaint mentioned
Worth flagging up front: a lot of "best CMMS" listicles are vendor-owned content (eWorkOrders, OxMaint, Coast and Limble all publish rankings that put themselves on top), so I'm weighting independent review-volume data and known market position over those lists.
  2. Coast mentioned
Worth flagging up front: a lot of "best CMMS" listicles are vendor-owned content (eWorkOrders, OxMaint, Coast and Limble all publish rankings that put themselves on top), so I'm weighting independent review-volume data and known market position over those lists.
  3. Limble mentioned

  4. Limble CMMS recommended
Limble CMMS - My default recommendation.
  5. G2 compared
Highest user satisfaction of the major players (4.8/5 across ~750 G2 reviews, G2 score of 81 vs.
  6. Fiix mentioned
Fiix's 69), genuinely mobile-first so technicians actually log work on the floor, and strong PM scheduling plus MRO parts inventory.
  7. MaintainX mentioned
MaintainX - Pick this over Limble if you want to deploy in weeks without a sales cycle, or if you're compliance-heavy (food & beverage, pharma, anything with audit trails).
  8. Automation mentioned
Fiix (Rockwell Automation) - The one to look at if you're serious about condition-based or predictive maintenance rather than just calendar PMs.
  9. UpKeep mentioned
    UpKeep - Solid, well-established, large install base (1,089 G2 reviews, 4.5/5).
  10. FMX mentioned
FMX - Narrow fit: light manufacturing where you're also managing facilities and a fleet of vehicles out of the same system.
  11. IBM Maximo mentioned
IBM Maximo Application Suite - Still the category leader for global, asset-intensive operations with real IoT and AI-driven predictive maintenance needs.

The answer, as recorded

Worth flagging up front: a lot of "best CMMS" listicles are vendor-owned content (eWorkOrders, OxMaint, Coast and Limble all publish rankings that put themselves on top), so I'm weighting independent review-volume data and known market position over those lists. ## For most manufacturers (small to mid-size plants, 1-5 sites) **1. Limble CMMS** - My default recommendation. Highest user satisfaction of the major players (4.8/5 across ~750 G2 reviews, G2 score of 81 vs. Fiix's 69), genuinely mobile-first so technicians actually log work on the floor, and strong PM scheduling plus MRO parts inventory. The catch: custom quoting only. Entry pricing is around $28/user/month, mid-tier ~$69 - about $41K/year at 50 users. Pushing for a quote is unavoidable. **2. MaintainX** - Pick this over Limble if you want to deploy in weeks without a sales cycle, or if you're compliance-heavy (food & beverage, pharma, anything with audit trails). Published pricing: free Basic tier, $20/user/month Essential, $65/user/month Premium. Digital checklists and SOPs attach directly to work orders, and real-time messaging means the maintenance chatter stops living in text threads. Best ease of implementation in the category. **3. Fiix (Rockwell Automation)** - The one to look at if you're serious about condition-based or predictive maintenance rather than just calendar PMs. It has native ML and pulls anomaly detection off connected PLCs, and the Rockwell ownership matters if your floor is Allen-Bradley. User satisfaction is noticeably lower than Limble/MaintainX (4.6/5, but a much weaker G2 score), so it's a capability pick, not a usability one. **4. UpKeep** - Solid, well-established, large install base (1,089 G2 reviews, 4.5/5). I'd call it the safe-but-unexciting option now; it's been passed by Limble and MaintainX on both UX and momentum. Worth a demo as a third bid. **5. FMX** - Narrow fit: light manufacturing where you're also managing facilities and a fleet of vehicles out of the same system. Very good visual scheduling calendar, minimal training burden. ## For large/multi-plant enterprises **6. IBM Maximo Application Suite** - Still the category leader for global, asset-intensive operations with real IoT and AI-driven predictive maintenance needs. Roughly $3,150-$7,272/month depending on tier, and mid-market buyers consistently question the value for money. Only justifiable at genuine scale. **7. SAP EAM/PM** - Essentially a foregone conclusion if you're standardized on S/4HANA; licensing rides along with your broader SAP agreement. Don't buy it on features, buy it on ecosystem fit. **8. Infor EAM** - The pragmatic middle for upper-mid-market: faster to implement and materially cheaper than Maximo, with most of the enterprise capability. Budget $50K-$150K+/year for a mid-market EAM deployment plus implementation. ## My actual advice Shortlist Limble, MaintainX, and Fiix, and run all three as parallel pilots on one production line. The deciding factor is almost never the feature matrix - it's whether your technicians will pick up the phone and close a work order. A CMMS nobody uses produces worse data than the clipboard it replaced. Skip EAM entirely unless you're multi-site with an ERP mandate; selecting a platform is an ecosystem decision more than a feature decision. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
