Here's what I'd actually recommend, depending on what kind of "notes" your business runs on: **1. Microsoft OneNote - start here if you're already on Microsoft 365.** It's the only one of the big three that's genuinely free without crippling limits, it syncs everywhere, and it's bundled with the Office subscription you're probably already paying for. Free-form notebook/section/page structure handles meeting notes, client files, and SOPs fine. Zero marginal cost is hard to beat for a small team. **2. Notion - best if notes need to become systems.** Client trackers, SOP wikis, project boards, and notes all in one place, so it replaces three tools instead of adding one. Plus is ~$8/user/mo annually, Business ~$15/user/mo. The tradeoff: it takes real setup effort, and if nobody owns the structure it turns into a mess within six months. **3. Apple Notes - the underrated free default if your team is on Macs/iPhones.** Fast, excellent scanning and handwriting, shared folders, solid search. For a 2-5 person shop that just needs notes to not disappear, this is often all you need and costs nothing. **4. Google Keep + Google Docs - the obvious pick if you're a Google Workspace shop.** Keep for quick capture, Docs for anything substantial. Not elegant, but free with your existing plan and the sharing/permissions already match how your team works. **5. Evernote - only if you specifically need its capture and OCR.** Best-in-class web clipping and searching text inside photos and PDFs (useful for receipts, contracts, business cards). But it's the most expensive per seat - Professional ~$14/user/mo annually, Teams ~$21 - after years of price hikes and ownership changes. I wouldn't start here in 2026 unless OCR search is the whole reason you're buying. **6. Obsidian - for solo operators and consultants who think in connected notes.** Files live locally as plain Markdown, so you own your data outright and there's no lock-in. Free for personal use; commercial use is $50/user/year. Weak on real-time team collaboration. **7. Fathom or Fellow - if "notes" really means meeting notes.** These record, transcribe, and summarize calls with action items, which is a different job than the apps above. Fathom has a usable free tier and is the common small-business pick; Fellow is more agenda- and accountability-focused. Pair one of these with OneNote or Notion rather than choosing between them. **My short answer:** if you're on Microsoft 365, use OneNote and spend the money elsewhere. If you want notes plus light project and client management in one tool, pay for Notion. Add Fathom on top if your business runs on client calls. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
