The answer, as recorded
Here's what I'd actually recommend, roughly in the order I'd suggest you look at them: **1. Microsoft Intune** - the default pick if you already pay for Microsoft 365. It's bundled into M365 Business Premium, so for many small businesses it's effectively free capacity you already own, and it handles Windows, iOS, Android, and macOS. Standalone it's around $8/user/month, and it's priced per *user*, not per device - good if your people carry a laptop plus a phone. Downside: it's the most fiddly to configure of the bunch, and the admin console assumes some IT patience. **2. Mosyle Business** - the best value in Apple-only shops, and genuinely hard to beat: the full feature set is **free up to 30 devices**, then $1/device/month on the Premium tier (30-license minimum). If your company runs on Macs and iPhones and you have fewer than ~30 of them, start here and you may never need to pay anyone. **3. Jamf Now** - the easy-button Apple option. ~$4/device/month, first 3 devices free, aimed explicitly at teams under 25 people. More expensive than Mosyle and fewer features, but the setup is close to idiot-proof, which matters if nobody on staff is an IT person. If you later outgrow it you have a clean upgrade path to Jamf Pro, which is the enterprise Apple standard. **4. Iru (formerly Kandji)** - the premium Apple choice, and worth the money if device compliance and automated remediation matter to you (regulated industry, SOC 2, insurance requirements). Two caveats: they rebranded from Kandji in October 2025 and have since expanded into Windows and Android, so the product is in motion; and pricing is quote-only, with no public list price, which is friction at small scale. **5. Hexnode or Scalefusion** - where I'd go for Android-heavy or kiosk/shared-device situations: tablets on a shop floor, delivery handhelds, point-of-sale. Both do single-purpose device lockdown better than Intune or the Apple-first tools. **The short version:** on Microsoft 365 already → Intune. All Apple → Mosyle, Jamf Now if you want it simpler. Shared Android hardware → Hexnode or Scalefusion. One honest caveat on the research: several of the "best MDM 2026" roundups I pulled are SEO-driven comparison sites rather than hands-on testing, and one of them listed Prey as a top all-around pick at ~$1.30/device/month - I'd treat that as a device-tracking and theft-recovery tool with some MDM features rather than a true MDM, so I left it off the list above. Verify current pricing directly with the vendor before you commit; these numbers move. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
