- Plan 1 mentioned
Intune Plan 1 is bundled into Business Premium (~$22/user/mo) at no extra cost, so you often already own it;
- Defender mentioned
It handles Windows, iOS, Android and (adequately) macOS, plus Conditional Access and Defender tie-ins.
- Mosyle mentioned
Mosyle - Best value by a wide margin if you're Apple-only.
- Fuse mentioned
Caveat: the Fuse upper tier carries a 30-license minimum, so a 10-device company pays for 30.
- Iru mentioned
Iru (formerly Kandji) - The nicest Apple management experience available, and what I'd pick if you have no in-house IT person and want things to just work: pre-built "Blueprints", strong automated patching, clean UI.

Jamf Now is the stripped-down small-business tier (~$4/device/mo, aimed at under ~25 employees) and still active;

Jamf Pro is the full product at ~$5.75/mobile and ~$12.50/Mac.
- JumpCloud mentioned
JumpCloud - Worth a look specifically if you don't yet have an identity provider.
- Linux mentioned
It bundles directory/SSO, MDM and patching for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android in one subscription, which for a small business can replace two or three separate products.
- Hexnode recommended
Hexnode - My pick for awkward mixed fleets, particularly Android-heavy ones: kiosk mode, rugged devices, shared tablets, point-of-sale.
- Scalefusion compared
If you're managing shop-floor or field hardware rather than office laptops, this category of tool (Hexnode, or Scalefusion as a close alternative) fits better than anything above.
- Google mentioned
If you're on Google Workspace, check its built-in endpoint management before buying anything - for basic enforcement (passcode, encryption, remote wipe) on a small fleet it may be sufficient, and you already pay for it.

The answer, as recorded
Searched; here's what I'd actually recommend. The honest answer is that the single biggest factor is what your fleet runs, so I've ordered these by the situation they win in - most small businesses land in the first two or three. **1. Microsoft Intune (via Microsoft 365 Business Premium)** - My default pick if you have any Windows machines, and especially if you're already paying for Microsoft 365. Intune Plan 1 is bundled into Business Premium (~$22/user/mo) at no extra cost, so you often already own it; standalone it's ~$8/user/mo. It handles Windows, iOS, Android and (adequately) macOS, plus Conditional Access and Defender tie-ins. Downside: the admin console is genuinely more complex than the Apple-only tools, and Mac support is competent rather than great. ([TrustedTech](https://www.trustedtechteam.com/blogs/microsoft-365/microsoft-intune-cost), [redresscompliance](https://redresscompliance.com/intune-plan-1-vs-plan-2-2026)) **2. Mosyle** - Best value by a wide margin if you're Apple-only. The Business tier is free up to 30 devices with real MDM functionality, and paid plans run roughly $1-3/device/mo. For a 10-25 person Mac/iPhone shop this is often the right call simply because the cost of being wrong is zero. Caveat: the Fuse upper tier carries a 30-license minimum, so a 10-device company pays for 30. ([Capterra](https://capterra.com/p/183343/Mosyle-Business/pricing/), [costbench](https://costbench.com/software/mdm/mosyle)) **3. Iru (formerly Kandji)** - The nicest Apple management experience available, and what I'd pick if you have no in-house IT person and want things to just work: pre-built "Blueprints", strong automated patching, clean UI. Kandji renamed to Iru in October 2025 and the rebrand rolled through the admin and enrollment surfaces by April 2026 - same product, new name and jellyfish logo, so don't be confused by old documentation. Pricing starts around $1.60/device/mo for iOS and $3.20 for macOS. ([Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iru_(company)), [Iru docs](https://docs.iru.com/en/iru/platform-overview/iru-brand-update), [Spendflo](https://www.spendflo.com/blog/kandji-pricing-guide)) **4. Jamf** - The incumbent in Apple management and the deepest feature set; also the safest choice if you ever need to hire someone who already knows your tooling, since Jamf skills are the most common on the market. Jamf Now is the stripped-down small-business tier (~$4/device/mo, aimed at under ~25 employees) and still active; Jamf Pro is the full product at ~$5.75/mobile and ~$12.50/Mac. Pro is more power than most small businesses need and priced accordingly. ([Jamf](https://www.jamf.com/small-business), [spotsaas](https://www.spotsaas.com/blog/jamf-pricing)) **5. JumpCloud** - Worth a look specifically if you don't yet have an identity provider. It bundles directory/SSO, MDM and patching for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android in one subscription, which for a small business can replace two or three separate products. Choose it for the consolidation, not because its MDM beats Mosyle or Iru on Apple depth. ([Prey](https://preyproject.com/blog/best-mdm-software-solutions-for-smbs)) **6. Hexnode** - My pick for awkward mixed fleets, particularly Android-heavy ones: kiosk mode, rugged devices, shared tablets, point-of-sale. If you're managing shop-floor or field hardware rather than office laptops, this category of tool (Hexnode, or Scalefusion as a close alternative) fits better than anything above. ([Prey](https://preyproject.com/blog/best-mdm-software-solutions-for-smbs)) Two notes on the above. If you're on Google Workspace, check its built-in endpoint management before buying anything - for basic enforcement (passcode, encryption, remote wipe) on a small fleet it may be sufficient, and you already pay for it. And treat every price here as indicative: a lot of the comparison sites in this niche are automated content farms, so confirm the number on the vendor's own pricing page before you budget. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
