## My actual recommendations, in order **1. Microsoft Intune - if you're already paying for Microsoft 365.** This is the default answer for most small businesses because it's probably already in your bill. Microsoft 365 Business Premium includes Intune, so the marginal cost is zero; standalone it runs roughly $8/user/month. Handles Windows, iOS, Android, and macOS. The catch: it's the clunkiest admin experience on this list and its macOS support is noticeably weaker than Apple-specialist tools. **2. Google Endpoint Management - if you're a Google Workspace shop.** Same logic. Basic mobile management is included free with Workspace, and the "advanced" tier comes with Business Plus. Not a full MDM for laptops, but if you just need to enforce passcodes, encryption, and remote-wipe on phones, don't buy anything. **3. Mosyle - best value for Apple-only fleets.** Free for up to 30 devices, then roughly $2/device/month. For a 10-40 person Mac and iPhone company this is the pragmatic pick, and the free tier is genuinely usable rather than a crippled demo. **4. Jamf Now (or Jamf Pro) - the safe, boring Apple choice.** Jamf is the market leader in Apple management; Now is the simplified SMB product, Pro is the real thing at roughly $4-8/device base, more with security add-ons. You pay a premium, but every Apple consultant and MSP knows it, which matters when you need help. **5. Iru (formerly Kandji) - premium Apple-first, but check the minimum.** Kandji rebranded to Iru in late 2025, so you'll see both names. Best-in-class automation and compliance for Mac fleets, but it's quote-only pricing with a reported ~100-device minimum - which disqualifies it for most genuinely small businesses. Worth a call if you're 50+ Macs and growing. **6. JumpCloud - if you have a mixed fleet and no identity provider yet.** This is the one to look at if you're running Macs, Windows, and Android and *also* lack central user accounts/SSO. It bundles directory, SSO, and device management, so you solve two problems with one vendor. **7. Scalefusion or Hexnode - for Android-heavy or kiosk/rugged deployments.** If your "devices" are shared tablets, delivery scanners, or digital signage, the general-purpose tools above are a poor fit and these two are built for it. ## Two things worth knowing before you buy Enroll devices through **Apple Business Manager** or **Android Enterprise** regardless of which MDM you choose - that's what makes enrollment survive a factory reset and prevents an employee from simply unenrolling. Set those up first; they're free. Also: much of the per-device pricing circulating online right now comes from AI-generated comparison sites, and I'd treat the specific dollar figures above as ballpark only. Confirm current pricing directly with the vendor, especially for Jamf and Iru, where tiers and add-ons change the real number substantially. **If I had to pick one without knowing anything else about you:** Microsoft 365 Business Premium with Intune if you're mixed-platform, Mosyle if you're all-Apple. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
