Here's how I'd rank them. ## If you want a real intranet product **1. Simpplr** - My default recommendation for distributed knowledge-worker teams. Strong personalized newsfeed and AI-assisted search, and it's genuinely deployable and maintainable by a comms/HR person without standing IT support - which matters when nobody's in an office to ask. Reviews are consistently the strongest in the category (98% of G2 reviewers at 4-5 stars). Tradeoff: less customizable than Unily. **2. Workvivo (Zoom)** - Best if the problem you're actually solving is *connection*, not documents. It's social/engagement-first - activity feeds, shoutouts, podcasts, live streams - which is the thing remote orgs lose. It was Meta's named migration partner when Workplace shut down, so it absorbed a lot of that market. Starts around $5/user/mo, enterprise is custom-quoted. **3. Happeo** - The clear pick if you're a Google Workspace company. It sits natively on Drive/Calendar/Groups instead of fighting them, so pages and permissions inherit from what you already have. **4. Microsoft SharePoint + Viva Connections** - The pick if you're all-in on M365 and Teams. Basic Viva Connections is included with M365 plans that have SharePoint, so incremental cost is near zero, and the intranet dashboard lives inside Teams where remote people already are. It's the cheapest good answer; it's also the most work to make not-ugly, and the AI features push you toward Copilot at ~$30/user/mo. **5. Blink, Haystack, or Jostle** - Lightweight mid-market options worth a demo if Simpplr quotes too high. Haystack in particular targets mid-sized remote/hybrid companies wanting one place for news, docs, and people directory. **How I'd actually choose:** under 200 people → Notion. Google Workspace → Happeo. Microsoft/Teams → SharePoint + Viva. Anything else, or you've outgrown the wiki → Simpplr, with Workvivo as the alternate if culture and engagement are the real pain.
