The answer, as recorded

Short answer: pick the one that matches the office suite you already pay for. Video conferencing is a commodity now; the differentiator is whether it's bundled. **1. Google Meet (via Google Workspace Business Starter, ~$7/user/mo)** - My default recommendation for most small businesses. If you're on Gmail/Google Docs, Meet is already included, so your marginal cost is zero. Entirely browser-based, so no client installs for you or your guests - the single biggest source of "we spent 5 minutes getting the call started" friction disappears. Free tier is genuinely usable: 100 participants, 60-minute cap. **2. Microsoft Teams (Microsoft 365 Business Basic, ~$7/user/mo; Teams Essentials ~$4.50 standalone)** - The right call if you're already in Excel/Outlook/SharePoint. Teams Essentials is the cheapest paid option here if you *only* want meetings and chat. The tradeoff: Teams is a persistent-chat-and-files platform first, meetings second, so it's heavier than small teams often need, and the external-guest experience is the weakest of the big three. **3. Zoom Pro (~$16/host/mo)** - Worth the premium in exactly one scenario: lots of calls with people *outside* your company. Clients, candidates, patients, and prospects already have Zoom installed and know how to use it, and it's still the most reliable on bad connections. Note Pro caps at 100 participants - you need Business (~$22) for 300, which is where the math starts hurting. **4. Zoho Meeting (~$1-3/host/mo)** - The budget pick, and the standout if you're already using Zoho CRM. Includes a real webinar mode at a price the others charge for meetings alone. Less polished, smaller ecosystem. **5. Jitsi Meet (free, open-source)** - No time limits, no participant cap, no account required, self-hostable. For a very small team, a nonprofit, or anyone with privacy requirements, it's hard to argue with. You give up recording polish, support, and calendar integration. Two caveats on the above: vendor list prices shift often (Microsoft raised 365 pricing in 2026), so confirm current numbers at the source before you commit. And several of the "best of 2026" roundups I found are affiliate-driven listicles - I'd weight the pricing pages and the comparison data over their rankings. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
