The answer, as recorded

For a startup shipping a static site, here's the short list in the order I'd actually consider them: **1. Cloudflare Pages / Workers (with Static Assets)** - My default recommendation. Unlimited bandwidth on every tier, including free, on the largest CDN in the world. For a startup, that's the single most important property: a launch post that goes viral costs you nothing instead of a surprise bill. Caveat worth knowing: as of 2026 Cloudflare is steering *new* full-stack/SSR projects toward Workers with Static Assets rather than Pages. Pages is still fully supported but gets less new feature work, so if you're starting fresh, start on Workers. **2. Vercel** - Pick this if you're on Next.js. The framework-to-platform fit is genuinely tighter than anywhere else (ISR, image optimization, middleware all just work), and it's the strongest all-around option. Pro is $20/user/month with 1TB bandwidth, then $0.15/GB. Fine economics at startup scale; the horror stories are about unmetered traffic spikes, so set spend limits on day one. **3. Netlify** - The one I'd name if you want batteries included on a marketing or content site: built-in forms, identity, and split testing mean you don't wire up a backend just to collect emails. Same $20/user Pro tier. Note it moved to credit-based billing in September 2025 (bandwidth is 10 credits/GB, 300 credits free), which is harder to reason about than a flat per-GB rate - and its overage pricing is the least forgiving of the three. **4. GitHub Pages** - Genuinely underrated for a pre-launch or docs site. Free, zero config if your code is already on GitHub, custom domain with HTTPS. No serverless functions, soft ~100GB/month fair-use limits. Use it for your docs or changelog, not your product. **5. S3 + CloudFront** - Only if you're already deep in AWS and want everything under one bill and one IAM model. It's the cheapest at real scale and infinitely tunable, but you'll spend a day on bucket policies, cache invalidation, and ACM certs that the others give you in one click. Not worth it for a small team. **What I'd do:** Cloudflare if you want cost predictability, Vercel if you're Next.js-native. Those two cover ~90% of startups, and both are easy to leave - a static site is just files, so lock-in is low and this decision is cheap to revisit. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
