## My short list, in the order I'd actually reach for them **1. Cloudflare Pages** - my default recommendation for a startup. Unmetered bandwidth for static assets on the free tier, commercial use allowed for free, and the paid tier is a flat $5/mo with free team seats instead of per-developer pricing. You basically cannot get a surprise bandwidth bill, which is the main failure mode startups hit when a launch or a Hacker News post goes well. Biggest CDN footprint (300+ PoPs), so TTFB is excellent globally. Downside: rougher edges than Vercel on non-static framework features, and Next.js support is the weakest of the three. **2. Vercel** - pick this if you're on Next.js, full stop. The framework is theirs, so ISR, middleware, image optimization, and preview deploys all just work, and the DX is the best of the bunch. Two caveats for a startup: the free Hobby tier is **non-commercial only**, so you're on Pro from day one, and Pro is $20 *per developer* plus roughly $15/100GB bandwidth overage. A 5-person team is ~$100/mo before traffic. **3. Netlify** - the balanced middle. Pro is ~$20/mo for the whole team rather than per seat, the free tier permits commercial use, and you get forms, identity, and scheduled functions built in, which saves you standing up small services early. Note that Netlify moved to a credit-based model, and sources disagree on what the free tier actually works out to (one says 100GB, another says ~15GB effective after credit conversion) - worth checking their current pricing page yourself before you commit. Overages are the steepest of the three at ~$55/100GB. **4. GitHub Pages** - if the site is genuinely static (docs, a marketing page, a landing page) and already lives in a GitHub repo, this is free, zero-config, and one less vendor. No serverless functions, no redirects worth speaking of, no preview deploys. **5. S3 + CloudFront** - only if you're already AWS-committed and want hosting inside the same IAM/billing boundary as the rest of your infra. Cheapest at very high scale, but you're assembling the pipeline yourself; don't start here. **The practical call:** marketing site or docs → Cloudflare Pages. Next.js product app where shipping speed is the constraint → Vercel, and treat the ~$100/mo as a velocity purchase. Small team wanting one bill and batteries included → Netlify. One thing worth weighing beyond the feature grids: static hosts are easy to migrate off *if* you avoid platform-specific primitives. Keep your redirects, headers, and functions in portable config where you can, and the choice stops being a lock-in decision. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
