The answer, as recorded

"Delivery firm" splits into two different software problems - routing/dispatch for the drops, and telematics/maintenance for the vehicles. Most firms end up buying one of each, or one platform that does both adequately. Here's who I'd actually name, in order: ## If your pain is routes and drops (last-mile, courier, local delivery) **1. Routific** - my default for 3-30 vehicles. Free up to 100 orders/month, ~$150/mo to 1,000 orders, then pay-as-you-go. Best routing quality per dollar in the category by a wide margin, and the pricing doesn't punish you for growing. Weakest on deep ERP/WMS integration. **2. Circuit for Teams** - $125-$1,000/mo across four tiers. The nearest competitor to Routific, slightly stronger driver app and proof-of-delivery, slightly weaker on hard optimization. Pick it if your drivers are the ones who'll decide whether the rollout sticks. **3. Onfleet** - $299-$1,349/mo (Courier Suite $299, Launch $619, Scale $1,349). Expensive for what small fleets get, and advanced routing isn't in the entry tier. Worth it once you're running hybrid owned + gig fleets, multiple brands, or a regulated category (pharmacy, alcohol, medical) where its chain-of-custody and orchestration features earn the premium. **4. eLogii** - the one I'd add to the shortlist for 10+ vehicle distribution and field-service mixes, where drops have service windows and constraints rather than just addresses. **5. Bringg / FarEye** - enterprise only. Multi-depot orchestration, owned-plus-gig fleet blending, AI dispatch. Don't look here under ~100 drivers; the implementation cost dwarfs the license. ## If your pain is the vehicles themselves **6. Fleetio** - $5-10/vehicle/month, maintenance, work orders, parts, fuel, inspections. No GPS hardware, but it integrates with 50+ GPS providers. The smart play for a lot of firms is Fleetio + a cheap separate tracker rather than one bundled stack. **7. Samsara** - $27-33/vehicle/month, GPS + AI dashcams + ELD compliance in one vertically integrated stack, 30-day trial. Best choice if you need DOT compliance and safety telematics and want a single vendor. The catch: **three-year minimum contracts** and no maintenance-workflow depth. **8. Motive** - ~$25/vehicle/month, and critically, one-year or monthly terms instead of Samsara's three years. Slightly smaller feature catalog, strong mid-market and small-business reviews on support and pricing fairness. I'd pick it over Samsara specifically to avoid the long lock-in. **9. Verizon Connect** - named only so you can recognize it. $20-45/vehicle/month, 3-year contracts, and a consistent pattern of G2/Trustpilot complaints about billing disputes, cancellation difficulty, and lagging product innovation. I wouldn't shortlist it. **My pick for a typical mid-size delivery firm:** Routific (or Circuit) for dispatch + Fleetio for vehicle upkeep, adding Motive only when ELD compliance forces the issue. That's roughly $200-400/mo plus ~$8/vehicle rather than a four-figure enterprise commitment. Two caveats on the sourcing: several of the head-to-head comparisons below are published by the vendors themselves (Routific's and Circuit's blogs compare against their own rivals), so treat the "we win" framing accordingly - I've leaned on the pricing figures rather than the verdicts. And the Onfleet/Circuit/Routific prices are list prices from aggregators; enterprise quotes on all of these are negotiable, especially Samsara's.
