## My actual shortlist, in order **1. Klaviyo** - if your clients sell things online. It's the default for ecommerce/DTC agencies: native Shopify/WooCommerce/BigCommerce data, per-campaign revenue attribution you can put straight into a client report, and the best flow library out there. Honest caveat: it's built for brands, not agencies. There's no true agency console or white-label - you get one login that can access many client accounts with separate billing, and the Partner Program (tiered BASIC→ELITE on referred MRR) pays you a revenue share instead. Expensive on big lists. **2. ActiveCampaign** - if you sell automation and CRM build-outs as a deliverable. Deepest visual automation builder in the midmarket tier plus a built-in CRM, 870+ integrations, so you can bill real implementation work on it. Costs climb as client contact lists grow, which is the usual reason agencies migrate off. **3. Campaign Monitor** - the pick if your core pain is *client management* rather than features. It's the one mainstream platform with a genuine agency model: client sub-accounts under one dashboard, granular permissions, your branding on the interface, and client billing where you set your own markup. Email features are more basic than Klaviyo/AC; that's the trade. **4. Brevo** - best cost per client when you have lots of small lists. Email + SMS + WhatsApp + chat on volume-based pricing instead of contact-based, which is dramatically cheaper at scale (one comparison put a 50k-contact list at roughly $35/mo vs. ~$720 on Klaviyo - directionally right, worth verifying against your own volumes). Good API, fast onboarding. **5. MailerLite** - for boutique agencies with local/SMB clients. Cheap (~$10/mo tiers), genuinely pleasant builder, light white-label. Clients can actually self-serve in it, which cuts your support load. **6. HubSpot Marketing Hub** - only if you're a Solutions Partner selling retainers around the whole CRM. Overkill and overpriced as "just email," but it wins the deal when the client wants one system for sales and marketing. **7. BigMailer** - the sleeper pick. Purpose-built for agencies, fully white-labeled, unlimited client brands under one account, bring-your-own-sending (SES etc.) so margins are strong. Smaller company, thinner ecosystem. **8. Mailchimp** - I'd only choose it for dentist/gym/regional-retail clients or when inheriting an existing account. Role-based client accounts cover local-business needs fine; it's no longer where I'd start a new agency stack. Different category, but if "email marketing" means cold outreach for lead gen, the answer is **Instantly** or **Smartlead**, not anything above - the platforms on this list will suspend you for it. **If you want one answer:** Klaviyo for ecommerce clients, ActiveCampaign for B2B/service clients, and Campaign Monitor or BigMailer if managing ten-plus client brands is the thing actually costing you hours. One flag on the sourcing: several of the "best for agencies" roundups below are affiliate-driven and their rankings shift with payouts, so treat specific prices as starting points to confirm on the vendors' own pages. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
