  1. GitHub mentioned
GitHub Actions - the default for ~80% of startups.
  2. GitHub Actions mentioned
GitHub Actions - the default for ~80% of startups.
  3. Linux mentioned
Free plan includes 2,000 min/mo on private repos (3,000 on Team/Pro), unlimited on public repos, then ~$0.006/min for a 2-core Linux runner.
  4. GitLab mentioned
GitLab CI/CD - pick this if you're on GitLab, don't fight it.
  5. Buildkite mentioned
Buildkite - the one I'd name once CI compute becomes a real line item or your builds need beefy/special hardware.
  6. Depot mentioned
Depot (or Namespace) - not a CI platform, a fix for the slow part of one.
  7. Namespace mentioned
Depot (or Namespace) - not a CI platform, a fix for the slow part of one.
  8. Vercel mentioned
Vercel / Netlify / Cloudflare Workers - if you're shipping a Next.js/React frontend, don't write a deploy pipeline at all.
  9. Vercel / Netlify mentioned

  16. Render mentioned
Render / Railway / Fly.io - the same logic for backends and dockerized services.
  17. Render / Railway mentioned
Render / Railway / Fly.io - the same logic for backends and dockerized services.
  18. Render / Railway / Fly.io mentioned
Render / Railway / Fly.io - the same logic for backends and dockerized services.
  19. Railway mentioned
Render / Railway / Fly.io - the same logic for backends and dockerized services.
  20. Fly.io mentioned
Render / Railway / Fly.io - the same logic for backends and dockerized services.
  21. Postgres mentioned
You get build-and-deploy on git push plus managed Postgres, which replaces both your CD pipeline and your early infra hire.
  22. CircleCI mentioned
CircleCI - still solid and mature, with good Docker-layer caching and test splitting, but I'd only choose it deliberately now: the credit-based model ($15/mo base, 5 users, 30k credits) is harder to forecast and it's a separate vendor you have to justify against Actions.
  23. Jenkins mentioned
Jenkins - I'd name it only to tell you to skip it.

## What I'd actually recommend, in order **1. GitHub Actions** - the default for ~80% of startups. If your code is already on GitHub, CI lives next to your PRs with no extra vendor, no extra SSO, no extra invoice. Huge marketplace of prebuilt actions, so your first pipeline is a day's work, not a sprint. Free plan includes 2,000 min/mo on private repos (3,000 on Team/Pro), unlimited on public repos, then ~$0.006/min for a 2-core Linux runner. One caveat worth knowing: GitHub added a $0.002/min Actions platform charge on **all** workflows as of March 1, 2026 - including self-hosted runners, which used to be free. ([docs.github.com](https://docs.github.com/en/billing/reference/actions-runner-pricing), [github.com/resources/insights](https://github.com/resources/insights/2026-pricing-changes-for-github-actions)) **2. GitLab CI/CD** - pick this if you're on GitLab, don't fight it. The integrated story is genuinely better than GitHub's for regulated/enterprise-sales startups: SAST, DAST, dependency and container scanning, and license compliance are built in rather than bolted on, which matters the first time a customer sends you a security questionnaire. ([creolestudios.com](https://www.creolestudios.com/best-devops-platforms-for-startups/)) **3. Buildkite** - the one I'd name once CI compute becomes a real line item or your builds need beefy/special hardware. You run the agents on your own cloud account; Buildkite only orchestrates. Pricing is per active user (~$30/mo) with unlimited self-hosted agents, so heavy build volume on a small team gets dramatically cheaper than any per-minute meter. Also the best answer for monorepos and GPU/iOS builds. ([apicostcalc.com](https://apicostcalc.com/github-actions-vs-circleci-vs-buildkite-cost-calculator.html)) **4. Depot** (or Namespace) - not a CI platform, a **fix** for the slow part of one. Drop-in managed runners for GitHub Actions: faster CPUs, ~10x faster caching, no 10GB cache ceiling, roughly half GitHub's runner price. Change one line of YAML. Highest ROI per hour of effort on this whole list if your CI is already slow. Namespace is the alternative if you lean on Bazel/Turborepo caching. ([depot.dev](https://depot.dev/docs/github-actions/overview), [betterstack.com](https://betterstack.com/community/comparisons/github-actions-runner/)) **5. Vercel / Netlify / Cloudflare Workers** - if you're shipping a Next.js/React frontend, don't write a deploy pipeline at all. Push-to-deploy, preview URLs per PR, and rollbacks come free. Use Actions for tests only. **6. Render / Railway / Fly.io** - the same logic for backends and dockerized services. You get build-and-deploy on git push plus managed Postgres, which replaces both your CD pipeline and your early infra hire. **7. CircleCI** - still solid and mature, with good Docker-layer caching and test splitting, but I'd only choose it deliberately now: the credit-based model ($15/mo base, 5 users, 30k credits) is harder to forecast and it's a separate vendor you have to justify against Actions. ([semaphore.io](https://semaphore.io/?p=27657)) **8. Argo CD or Flux** - only if you're already on Kubernetes. GitOps with declarative config and automatic drift detection, free and open source. Pair with Actions for CI; Argo handles the CD half. ([carmatec.com](https://www.carmatec.com/blog/20-best-ci-cd-pipeline-tools-for-devops-in-2025/)) **9. Jenkins** - I'd name it only to tell you to skip it. The plugin maintenance and upgrade burden is a part-time job you can't staff yet. **The honest shortcut:** GitHub Actions + Vercel/Render, and add Depot when builds cross ~10 minutes. Revisit with Buildkite when the CI bill or build times get annoying enough to notice. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
