Brands named, in the order the engine gave
- Webflow recommended
Webflow - My default recommendation for design-led agencies.
- Wix mentioned
Wix Studio - The most agency-purpose-built option of the bunch.
- Wix Studio mentioned
Wix Studio - The most agency-purpose-built option of the bunch.
- WordPress mentioned
WordPress (with a managed host + a modern builder) - Still what I'd pick when the client needs genuine extensibility, complex integrations, multilingual, or just insists on owning the stack.
- Framer recommended
Framer - Best for marketing sites, launch pages, and design-heavy brochure work where speed matters more than depth.
- Duda mentioned
Duda - The pick if you're white-labeling at volume.
- Shopify mentioned
Shopify - Not a general website builder, but worth naming: if the client's site is the store, don't force it into Webflow or Wix.
- Squarespace mentioned
Squarespace - I'd name this last, and mainly for small clients you want to be able to walk away from.

The answer, as recorded
Here's how I'd actually rank them, assuming "agency" means you're building and maintaining sites for paying clients: **1. Webflow** - My default recommendation for design-led agencies. The Designer maps almost 1:1 to real CSS (grid, flexbox, positioning), so you can hand off to developers or export static code without being trapped. Strong CMS, good client-billing transfer so the client pays Webflow directly, and the deepest agency talent pool for hiring. Site plans run ~$15-25/mo on annual billing plus a Workspace plan. Weakness: memberships, email, and ecommerce usually mean bolting on third-party tools. **2. Wix Studio** - The most agency-*purpose-built* option of the bunch. Dedicated agency dashboard for managing dozens of client sites, built-in billing/reseller mechanics, and bundled business features (bookings, stores, events, member areas, email marketing) plus server-side code (Velo). If your clients are local businesses needing booking or storefronts, this gets you to launch fastest with the fewest vendors. Plans ~$19-159/mo. Weakness: no meaningful code export - you're on Wix infrastructure for good. **3. WordPress (with a managed host + a modern builder)** - Still what I'd pick when the client needs genuine extensibility, complex integrations, multilingual, or just insists on owning the stack. Unmatched plugin ecosystem and zero platform lock-in. The cost is that *you* own maintenance, security, and plugin conflicts - so only choose it if you have a retainer model that funds that work. **4. Framer** - Best for marketing sites, launch pages, and design-heavy brochure work where speed matters more than depth. Freeform canvas, gentler learning curve than Webflow for designers who don't think in flexbox, and excellent animation out of the box. Weaker CMS and thinner for anything transactional. **5. Duda** - The pick if you're white-labeling at volume. Built from the ground up for agencies and freelancers: white-label dashboard, your branding on the client-facing editor, reseller pricing. Less design ceiling than Webflow, but if you're shipping 50+ small-business sites a year on a productized offer, the margins work. **6. Shopify** - Not a general website builder, but worth naming: if the client's site *is* the store, don't force it into Webflow or Wix. Build on Shopify and use a theme or Hydrogen. **7. Squarespace** - I'd name this last, and mainly for small clients you want to be able to walk away from. It's the easiest to hand to a non-technical owner who'll self-manage after launch. Low ceiling for custom design work. The honest short version: **Webflow if you sell design, Wix Studio if you sell volume and speed, WordPress if the client needs to own it, Duda if you're white-labeling.** Sources: - [The 5 best website builders for agencies in 2026 - TechRadar](https://www.techradar.com/pro/website-building/best-website-builders-for-agencies) - [Wix Studio vs Webflow: Which is best for your agency? - TechRadar](https://www.techradar.com/pro/website-building/wix-studio-vs-webflow) - [Wix Studio vs Webflow: a comparison for designers and agencies - eSEOspace](https://eseospace.com/blog/wix-studio-vs-webflow/) - [Framer vs Webflow: Which No-Code Builder Is Right for Your Project? - Branded Agency](https://www.brandedagency.com/blog/framer-vs-webflow) - [14 website builders for agencies and freelancers in 2026 - WP Reset](https://wpreset.com/14-website-builders-for-agencies-and-freelancers-in-2026/) - [8 Best Website Builders for Agencies - HostAdvice](https://hostadvice.com/website-builders/website-builder-for-agencies/) - [10 Best Website Builders in 2026 - Superframeworks](https://superframeworks.com/articles/best-website-builders)

Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
