The answer, as recorded
## Best website builders for agencies **1. Webflow** - My default recommendation for design-led agencies. The visual quality and control genuinely can't be matched by template-based builders, the CMS is good enough for real content work, and the billing handoff (transfer the site, client pays Webflow directly) solves the awkward "who owns the hosting" problem. Agency Workspaces let you keep unlimited unpublished sites while you pitch. Downside: steepest learning curve here, and you need to actually know CSS concepts. **2. Wix Studio** - The best option if you're running volume. Multi-site client dashboard, custom client roles/permissions, reusable design libraries across projects, and a reseller program. It's dramatically faster than Webflow for a straightforward brochure site. Worth noting every listicle ranking it #1 is often on Wix's own blog - but the agency tooling really is strong. **3. WordPress + Bricks or Elementor** - Not a hosted builder, but still the right answer when the client needs portability, a specific plugin ecosystem, or has an in-house team taking over later. Nobody gets fired for delivering WordPress. Cost: you own maintenance, security, and updates forever unless you sell a care plan (which is actually good recurring revenue). **4. Duda** - The pick if white-labeling is the whole point. Built for agencies and SaaS platforms reselling under their own brand at scale - fast sites, strong local-SEO output, good client-editor experience. Less design ceiling than Webflow, more throughput. **5. Framer** - Rising fast for startup/marketing-site work. Great motion and interaction design, very quick to production. CMS is thinner than Webflow's, so I'd avoid it for content-heavy clients. **6. Shopify** - Obvious but needs saying: if the client sells products, build on Shopify and don't fight it with a general-purpose builder's e-commerce add-on. **7. Squarespace (Circle)** - Lowest-maintenance choice for small clients who will self-edit. Circle gives you 20% recurring commission and client-billing transfer. Design ceiling is low; that's the tradeoff. **8. 10Web / SiteSwan** - Niche but worth knowing if your model is high-volume cheap sites for local businesses: AI generation, white-label branding, built-in reseller billing. **Short version:** Webflow if you sell design, Wix Studio if you sell volume, WordPress if the client demands ownership, Duda if you're reselling under your own brand. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
