The answer, as recorded

Here's how I'd rank them, depending on where you sit: **1. Better Impact (Volunteer Impact)** - My default recommendation for most small-to-mid nonprofits. It's a real volunteer CRM: custom application forms, qualification/background-check tracking, scheduling, hour logs, and genuinely good reporting. Pricing is tiered by number of administrators (from a cheap "Foundation" account up to unlimited admins), not by volunteer count, so your costs don't balloon as the program grows. Support has a strong reputation, which matters a lot when your coordinator is a part-timer or a volunteer themselves. **2. Volgistics** - The budget pick. Starts around $17/month for ~50 tracked volunteers, usage-based, no setup or license fees, and you can size your own plan on their calculator. The interface is dated and mobile is weak, but for pure recordkeeping and hour tracking on a tight budget nothing beats the price-to-capability ratio. **3. VolunteerHub** - Best for mid-size to large programs - hundreds to thousands of volunteers, recurring shifts, event-heavy operations. Strong self-service sign-up portals, kiosk check-in, and native Blackbaud Raiser's Edge integration, which is why food banks and large human-services orgs tend to land here. Costs meaningfully more than the two above. **4. Galaxy Digital (Get Connected)** - Pick this if you're a volunteer *center*, United Way, or hub coordinating opportunities across many partner agencies. It's built around a public-facing opportunity marketplace plus agency management, which the others don't really do. **5. Golden** - Modern, mobile-first, and the strongest option if corporate volunteering or employee groups are part of your pipeline. Custom pricing, roughly $110/month and up. **6. SignUpGenius or Track It Forward** - If you honestly just need shift sign-ups and hour logs, don't buy a CRM. SignUpGenius has a free tier; Track It Forward is free under 25 volunteers. Plenty of small orgs over-buy here. **One thing worth deciding first:** if you already run a donor CRM (Bloomerang, Neon One, Salesforce NPSP, DonorDock), check its native volunteer module before buying standalone. Today's volunteer is often tomorrow's donor, and keeping both records in one system usually beats a better-but-separate tool plus a sync you have to maintain. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
