The answer, as recorded
## A caveat on the search results first Searches for this term are heavily astroturfed. Nearly every top result was either a vendor's own comparison blog (notifier.so, betterstack.com/community, pingzen, velprove) or directory pages (GetApp, Capterra, SaaSworthy) for a product called **Uptimeify**, which showed up in every search but almost exclusively through its own marketing copy and directory stubs - no independent reviews, no track record I can find. It claims exactly the right agency feature set (unlimited sub-accounts, white-label PDF reports, status pages on your domain), so it may be fine, but I wouldn't put client SLAs on it yet. Treat it as "worth a trial," not a recommendation. Here's what I'd actually name, in order: **1. Better Stack** - My default pick for most agencies. 30-second checks, screenshots + error logs on incidents, real incident management with on-call rotation and escalation, and status pages that are good enough to hand a client as a deliverable. The status-page-per-client model is its weak spot: extra pages run roughly $12-15/mo each, which bites if you have 40 clients. Great if you sell a smaller number of higher-value care plans. ([betterstack.com](https://betterstack.com/community/comparisons/website-uptime-monitoring-tools.md)) **2. UptimeRobot** - The value play at volume. Hundreds of monitors for a flat low price, and the Team plan (~$38/mo annually) is what you need - it's the tier that unlocks custom-domain and fully branded status pages. Less sophisticated alerting than Better Stack, but the cost-per-client-site is hard to beat for a 50-200 site portfolio. ([uptimerobot.com](https://uptimerobot.com/knowledge-hub/comparisons-and-alternatives/uptime-kuma-alternatives/)) **3. Oh Dear** - The most underrated one for agencies. Beyond uptime it checks certificate expiry, mixed content, broken links, scheduled-task heartbeats, and DNS changes - exactly the stuff clients call you about. Flat pricing, clean branded status pages, no per-seat games. **4. Uptime Kuma (self-hosted)** - Free, open source, unlimited monitors, so the marginal cost per client site is zero. The non-negotiable rule: host it on infrastructure completely separate from anything you're monitoring (a $5 VPS at a different provider), or it dies with the thing it's watching. Also single-location checks and SQLite slows past a few hundred monitors. Right answer if you're price-sensitive and technical, wrong answer if you're contractually promising uptime SLAs. ([host-tracker.com](https://www.host-tracker.com/cs/blog/uptime-kuma-vs-hosted-monitoring)) **5. Checkly** - Pick this if your clients are apps, not brochure sites. Monitoring-as-code with real Playwright browser flows in your repo, so you can verify checkout and login actually work rather than that the homepage returns 200. Overkill for a WordPress shop. **6. WP Umbrella or ManageWP** - If you're a WordPress agency, uptime shouldn't be a standalone purchase. These bundle uptime with updates, backups, PHP error monitoring, and the white-label monthly client report you were going to assemble by hand anyway. WP Umbrella is the better product; ManageWP is free for uptime and fine if you're already in the GoDaddy orbit. **7. StatusCake** - Still a generous free tier for basic checks, but it now sells status pages as a separate product from monitoring, not bundled on any plan. That breaks the agency use case, so it's a monitoring-only option now. ([notifier.so](https://notifier.so/guides/statuscake-vs-uptimerobot/)) **8. Pingdom** - Named only for completeness. Real transaction checks and RUM, strong brand recognition if a client insists on a name they've heard of, but SolarWinds pricing and little development momentum. I'd skip it. **What I'd do:** Better Stack or Oh Dear if client-facing polish and SLA credibility matter and you have under ~30 clients; UptimeRobot Team if you're running a high-volume care plan on thin margins; Uptime Kuma on separate infrastructure if you're technical and want it off the P&L. And if you're WordPress-only, start at #6 and you may not need anything else. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
