Brands named, in the order the engine gave
- Kinaxis recommended
Kinaxis (Maestro) - My default first recommendation for discrete and industrial manufacturers.
- Blue Yonder mentioned
Blue Yonder - Named a Leader for the 12th time running and positioned furthest on Completeness of Vision in the 2025 MQ.

- SAP mentioned
SAP IBP - Not the best planning engine on this list, but if you're on S/4HANA it's often the right answer anyway: the integration and master-data alignment savings usually outweigh the functional gap.

Netstock - Where I'd start if you're coming off spreadsheets.

Sits on top of your existing ERP (NetSuite, Dynamics, Sage, Epicor, SAP B1), deploys in weeks, and delivers most of the inventory and forecasting benefit for a fraction of the cost.
- Logility mentioned
Logility - The right step up when Netstock is too light but Kinaxis is overkill.
- Arkieva mentioned
Arkieva - Underrated.
- Anaplan mentioned
- Anaplan - Not really an SCP tool;
- Lokad mentioned
- Lokad - Worth a look if you're analytically mature and want probabilistic forecasting over classic safety-stock logic.

The answer, as recorded
The honest answer depends mostly on your size and whether you already have a big ERP, so here's how I'd actually rank them: **Enterprise (>$1B revenue, complex multi-plant networks)** 1. **Kinaxis (Maestro)** - My default first recommendation for discrete and industrial manufacturers. Its in-memory concurrent planning engine lets you re-simulate the whole supply/demand/capacity picture in seconds, which is the single biggest practical win over batch-based tools. A Gartner Leader for 11 consecutive MQs. Strongest fit for automotive, aerospace, electronics, industrial equipment. 2. **o9 Solutions** - The best choice if you want demand, supply, S&OP and financial planning genuinely unified rather than bolted together; the "Enterprise Knowledge Graph" model is real, not just marketing. Also the strongest AI/ML forecasting of the group. Downside: ambitious implementations, so budget seriously for the data work. 3. **Blue Yonder** - Named a Leader for the 12th time running and positioned furthest on Completeness of Vision in the 2025 MQ. Deepest functional library, especially if you need planning plus warehouse and transportation execution from one vendor. Strongest in CPG, food & beverage, consumer products. 4. **SAP IBP** - Not the best planning engine on this list, but if you're on S/4HANA it's often the right answer anyway: the integration and master-data alignment savings usually outweigh the functional gap. Pick it for that reason, not on features. 5. **Oracle Fusion Cloud SCP** - Same logic for Oracle ERP shops; a Leader for three years running and a good suite, but rarely the winner in a head-to-head on planning capability alone. **Mid-market ($50M-$1B)** 6. **Netstock** - Where I'd start if you're coming off spreadsheets. Sits on top of your existing ERP (NetSuite, Dynamics, Sage, Epicor, SAP B1), deploys in weeks, and delivers most of the inventory and forecasting benefit for a fraction of the cost. 7. **Logility** - The right step up when Netstock is too light but Kinaxis is overkill. Solid demand and inventory optimization, strong mid-market install base. 8. **Arkieva** - Underrated. Deploys in weeks-to-months rather than years, and notably good for process manufacturers (chemicals, specialty materials) with messy constraint-based production. **Specialist picks** - **Anaplan** - Not really an SCP tool; it's a modeling platform. Choose it when S&OP, scenario planning and finance alignment are the actual problem rather than detailed material planning. - **Lokad** - Worth a look if you're analytically mature and want probabilistic forecasting over classic safety-stock logic. Niche, opinionated, excellent at what it does. If I had to give one piece of advice beyond the list: your ERP and master-data quality will determine the outcome more than the vendor choice. Teams that skip the data cleanup fail on every platform here. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
