The question asked, verbatim: best sms marketing platforms for small businesses

Brands named, in the order the engine gave

  1. SlickText recommended
Here's how I'd rank them for a small business, with the caveat that a lot of the "best SMS platform" listicles out there are either vendor-owned (SlickText's blog ranks SlickText, EZ Texting's page names EZ Texting "best overall") or affiliate content - so I'm weighting independent review aggregates
  2. EZ Texting recommended

  5. Textedly mentioned

The answer, as recorded

Here's how I'd rank them for a small business, with the caveat that a lot of the "best SMS platform" listicles out there are either vendor-owned (SlickText's blog ranks SlickText, EZ Texting's page names EZ Texting "best overall") or affiliate content - so I'm weighting independent review aggregates and published pricing more heavily. ## The general-purpose picks (most small businesses) **1. SimpleTexting** - my default recommendation. Cleanest interface, the best feature-to-price balance for a non-technical team, and it does two-way conversations well (not just blasts). Plans run ~$29-39/mo for 500 credits. The common complaint is messages getting stuck in carrier "monitoring" and occasional lag on large batches. **2. SlickText** - the highest independent ratings of the bunch (4.8/5 on both G2 and Capterra vs. SimpleTexting's 4.7 and EZ Texting's 4.5/4.4), and reviewers consistently single out fast, real human support. If you want strong drip automations and expect to need help setting them up, start here. ~$29/mo entry. **3. EZ Texting** - best hand-holding onboarding and the lowest entry price (~$20-25/mo), which makes it a reasonable first platform. But it's the one with the most recurring complaints about cost creep as you scale and support quality, so I'd treat it as a starter rather than a destination. **4. Textedly** - worth naming specifically if you want **text-to-pay** or heavy group messaging. Similar ~$29/mo floor, slightly lower ratings (4.6/4.5). ## If you sell online **5. Klaviyo** - the right answer if you have a Shopify/WooCommerce store, because email and SMS live in one place with shared segmentation and abandoned-cart flows. Free tier covers 250 profiles and 150 SMS credits; paid starts around $20-45/mo with SMS billed as credits on top. You pay a premium, but you stop paying for two tools. **6. Omnisend** - the budget version of the above. Starts at $16/mo with a usable free plan and bundles email + SMS + push. As of May 2026 its SMS moved to volume pricing (~$0.007/message, no included credits), which is cheap but means no bundled buffer. Best when you're watching every dollar. **7. Postscript** - only if you're Shopify, SMS is your main channel, and email is already handled elsewhere. It's genuinely good at that one job, but the floor (~$49-100/mo plus per-message) is high for a small list. ## Ones I'd actively steer you away from **Attentive** - excellent platform, wrong buyer. ~$300/mo plus per-message plus carrier fees, and the killer is quarterly minimum commitments around $2,000-3,000 that you owe whether you send anything or not. Don't sign this as a small business. **Twilio** - the cheapest per-message by far, but it's an API, not a marketing tool. Only if you have a developer who'll build the opt-in flows, compliance, and reporting. ## The thing that actually matters more than your pick Every one of these requires **A2P 10DLC registration** (US carrier approval of your brand and campaign) before you can send at volume. It takes days to a couple of weeks and gets rejected for sloppy opt-in language, so pick a vendor that files it for you and judge them on how well they walk you through it - that process, not the feature grid, is where small businesses actually get stuck. If your use case is alerts and notifications rather than marketing, **Text-Em-All** is a better fit than anything above. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
