## My actual picks, in order **1. SimpleTexting - the default recommendation for most small businesses.** This is where I'd start if you have no strong reason to go elsewhere. Clean two-way inbox, keyword opt-ins, scheduling, drip automations, and it handles the 10DLC registration paperwork for you. Starts at **$39/mo for 500 credits** (a text to 500 people = 500 credits, so budget accordingly). Rated 4.3 on G2. The reason it wins by default: nothing about it is a trap - you can run a real campaign on day one without a consultant. **2. Klaviyo - if you sell online, especially on Shopify.** If e-commerce is your business, don't buy a standalone SMS tool. Klaviyo unifies email + SMS on one customer profile, so abandoned-cart and post-purchase flows fire across both channels without you duplicating logic. Free up to 250 contacts, and SMS is pay-as-you-go on top of a low base (roughly **$0-35/mo** at small list sizes). Picking a separate SMS vendor alongside an email vendor is the most common expensive mistake I see here. **3. SlickText - best if your growth plan is keyword opt-ins.** "Text JOIN to 77948" on a sign, receipt, or counter card. SlickText's onboarding wizard is built around exactly that: web forms, pop-ups, QR opt-ins, coupons, contests, loyalty. **From $29/mo for 500 texts.** Strongest pick for restaurants, salons, gyms, retail - anywhere you capture numbers in person. **4. EZ Texting - the middle ground with the cheapest entry point.** Plans run roughly **$25-125/mo** (Launch/Boost/Scale). Good if you want something more capable than Textedly but cheaper than SimpleTexting at low volume. Slightly more cluttered UI; the upsells are real. **5. Textedly - pure budget bulk sending.** **$29/mo for 600 messages.** If all you need is "blast my list a promo twice a month," it does that and nothing else gets in your way. Don't pick it if you expect to need real automation or CRM integration later. **6. Podium - if the texts are conversations, not campaigns.** Contractors, dentists, auto shops, local services: Podium is built around inbound leads, review requests, and payments over text, not broadcast marketing. Much pricier (several hundred/mo) and a different product category - worth it only if your revenue comes from conversations. **Attentive - I'd skip it.** It shows up on every "best of" list, but at **$500-5,000/mo** it's an enterprise e-commerce tool. Not a small-business product regardless of what the listicles say. ## The thing that actually matters more than the platform Since **February 1, 2025, US carriers block 100% of unregistered A2P traffic** on 10-digit long codes. You must register a brand and campaign through The Campaign Registry: roughly **$4 brand registration** (~$48 for a standard brand), **~$15 per campaign**, then **$2-10/mo per campaign** plus **$0.0025-0.005 per message** in carrier fees on top of whatever your platform charges. Every vendor above will walk you through it, but check that their quoted price is *before* these pass-through fees - most are. Also: TCPA plus state "mini-TCPA" laws (Florida's FTSA, Texas SB 140) mean you need documented express written consent, working STOP/HELP, and quiet-hours compliance. This is where small businesses get sued, not on platform choice. **Bottom line:** Shopify store → Klaviyo. In-person customer capture → SlickText. Everything else → SimpleTexting. I leaned on Zapier, G2, and Forbes for the hands-on evaluations and vendor pages only for current pricing.

Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
