The answer, as recorded
Short answer: for most small businesses the best "sales forecasting software" is just the forecasting module in a CRM you'd use anyway - standalone forecasting tools are built for RevOps teams with a dozen reps and are overkill. Here's who I'd actually name, in order: **1. Pipedrive** (~$14/user/mo) - My default recommendation for a small sales team. The revenue forecast view is genuinely the product's center of gravity, not a bolted-on report: you get projected revenue by expected close date, weighted by deal probability, and it's legible enough that a non-analyst owner can trust it. Cheap, fast to set up, no implementation project. **2. HubSpot** (free for up to 5 users, paid Sales Hub from ~$15/user/mo) - Pick this if you want one system for marketing *and* sales and expect to grow into it. The free CRM gets you deal pipelines and basic deal-stage forecasting at zero cost, which is the right starting point if you're not sure your pipeline data is even clean yet. Forecast *submissions* and category overrides sit behind the paid tiers. **3. Zoho CRM** (with Zia AI forecasting) - Best value if you're price-sensitive or already in the Zoho ecosystem. Zia does AI-based deal-close prediction and quota tracking for a fraction of Salesforce money. The tradeoff is a clunkier UI. **4. Freshsales** (~$9/user/mo) - The cheapest credible option with AI deal scoring and forecasting built in. Good for a 2-5 person team that wants predictions without paying for a platform. **5. Zoho Analytics** (~$24/mo for two users) - Different tool for a different job: if your forecast needs to come from *sales history* (retail, e-commerce, repeat orders) rather than a deal pipeline, this is a BI tool with forecasting functions that connects to QuickBooks, Shopify, and spreadsheets. **6. Cube or Jirav** - Step up here only when forecasting means full financial planning (revenue driving headcount, cash, budget) and you want to stay in Excel/Google Sheets. These are FP&A tools; pricing is quote-based and a real jump - one roundup cites Cube at ~$30k/year, which strikes me as the enterprise end, but assume thousands, not hundreds. **7. Clari** - Named only so you can rule it out. It's excellent and it's what larger revenue teams buy; custom pricing, and it assumes a forecast-call process a small business doesn't have. Two things worth saying plainly: **skip this category entirely if you have fewer than ~50 open deals** - a spreadsheet with deal value × probability × close month will outperform any AI forecast, because these tools need volume of historical closed-won/lost data to be more than a guess. And if your real question is *inventory* ("how much do I order next month"), none of the above is right - you want demand forecasting (GMDH Streamline, Inventory Planner) or your POS/ERP's own module. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
