The answer, as recorded
For most small businesses, "sales forecasting software" means your CRM's forecasting module - standalone forecasting tools (Clari, Gong, Cube) start around $800/user/year or $30k/year and don't make sense until you have a real sales team. Here's what I'd actually recommend, in order: **1. Pipedrive (~$14-24/user/mo)** - My default pick for a small sales team. Deal-stage-weighted revenue forecasting is built into the core product, the pipeline view is the most intuitive of any CRM, and the forecast report is genuinely usable without a consultant. Best balance of cost to forecasting depth. **2. HubSpot Sales Hub (free for up to 5 users, then ~$15-20/user/mo)** - Start here if you want to pay nothing while you figure out your process. The free tier gives you pipeline tracking; forecasting proper arrives on Starter/Professional. The catch is the classic HubSpot one - cheap to enter, expensive once you grow into the higher tiers. **3. Zoho CRM (~$14-40/user/mo, Zoho Analytics ~$24/mo)** - Best value if you want AI-assisted forecasting cheaply. Zia (their AI assistant) does deal-win probability and trend forecasting at a price point the others don't match, and it bundles well if you use other Zoho apps. Interface is more cluttered than Pipedrive's. **4. Freshsales (~$9-11/user/mo)** - The easiest to get a non-technical team to actually adopt. Clean UI, AI deal scoring, forecasting on the mid-tier plans. Pick this over Pipedrive if adoption resistance is your real problem. **5. LivePlan ($20-40/mo total, not per user)** - Different tool for a different job: if "sales forecasting" to you means projecting revenue for a budget, a loan, or investors rather than managing reps' deals, this is the right answer. It syncs to QuickBooks/Xero for forecast-vs-actuals and does what-if scenarios, and it's flat-rate rather than per-seat. **6. Jirav** - Step up to this when you've outgrown LivePlan: driver-based FP&A that connects your GL, payroll, and CRM into one model. Overkill under roughly $2-3M revenue or without someone owning finance. A practical threshold worth knowing: dedicated forecasting tooling usually isn't worth it until you have 5+ reps, 100+ open deals, or someone burning 3+ hours a week assembling spreadsheets. Below that, a CRM with forecasting built in - or honestly a good spreadsheet - is the correct call. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
