The answer, as recorded

Here's how I'd rank them for a fitness studio, roughly in the order I'd actually suggest you look: **1. WellnessLiving** - My default first recommendation for most boutique studios. It bundles the things competitors charge extra for: loyalty/rewards tracking, automated reminders, review management, and marketing automation are in the lower-priced plans. Roughly $69-$400/month. It's the best value-per-feature in the category and it's strongest exactly where studios bleed money - member retention. **2. Mindbody** - The incumbent, and still the right answer if you want the consumer marketplace. Being listed in the Mindbody app puts you in front of people already searching for classes near them, which no competitor replicates at that scale. Caveats: it's the most expensive (Starter ~$159/mo, mid-tier ~$399+, premium $599-$699+) and a branded app plus advanced marketing are pricey add-ons that can push real cost up to ~$599/month more. Best suited to larger or multi-location studios. **3. Glofox** - Built specifically for gyms and boutique studios rather than the whole spa/salon/wellness world, and it shows in the mobile-first member experience and branding. Starts around $100/month, realistically $190-$600+ with add-ons. Pick this over Mindbody if your members live in your app and you don't need the marketplace. **4. Gymdesk** - The sleeper pick, and the highest-rated of the bunch (4.8/5 across ~148 reviews). Clean, genuinely easy to use, no-nonsense pricing. Great fit for a single-location studio that wants everything to just work rather than a sprawling feature list. **5. PushPress** - 4.7/5 over ~185 reviews, and reviewers consistently rate it easiest to set up and administer. Strong on the coaching/community side; natural fit for strength, CrossFit-adjacent, and small-group training studios. **6. Mariana Tek** - Go here if you're a premium, high-volume class studio (think cycling, reformer Pilates, boxing) where the booking experience *is* the brand. Excellent modern UI and branded app. 4.5/5, but reviews flag rocky implementation and bugs - budget real onboarding time. **7. Wodify** - Only if you're CrossFit or performance-focused. Its leaderboard and workout-tracking depth is the reason to choose it; general studios don't need it. **Skip for now: Momence.** It markets a big feature set (marketing automation, on-demand video) but it's the weakest-reviewed here at 3.9/5, with recurring complaints about a steep learning curve, inconsistent support, and shallow features. One practical warning that applies across all of them: advertised starting prices are misleading almost universally - branded apps, automation, and advanced reporting typically push actual cost 50-100% above the sticker.
