The question asked, verbatim: best graphic design tools for agencies

Brands named, in the order the engine gave

  1. Adobe Creative Cloud mentioned
Adobe Creative Cloud (All Apps, ~$60-90/seat/mo on teams) - still the floor, not the ceiling.
  2. Figma mentioned
Figma - the agency file of record for anything screen-based: UI, design systems, pitch work, and crucially the comment thread clients will actually use.
  3. FigJam mentioned
Multiplayer editing killed the "v4_FINAL_final.psd" problem, and FigJam covers workshops/kickoffs.
  4. per-seat mentioned
Pricing is per-seat with cheap viewer/commenter seats, which is how you let 12 client stakeholders in without paying for 12 editors.
  5. Canva mentioned
Canva Teams - don't be snobby about this one.
  6. Canva Teams mentioned
Canva Teams - don't be snobby about this one.
  7. Affinity mentioned
Affinity (the new single app) - as of late October 2025, Canva rebuilt Affinity into one app combining vector, pixel, and layout, and made it free forever on Mac and Windows, with AI features (background removal, etc.) gated behind a Canva paid plan.
  8. Frame.io mentioned
Frame.io - video and motion review.
  9. Webflow mentioned
Webflow or Framer - how the design file becomes a live URL you can hand to a client without a dev retainer.
  10. Framer mentioned
Webflow or Framer - how the design file becomes a live URL you can hand to a client without a dev retainer.
  11. Ziflow mentioned
Ziflow (or similar dedicated proofing) - only if you're doing regulated work: pharma, finance, CPG packaging with legal review.
  12. AI-first mentioned
What I'd skip: Sketch (Mac-only, lost the collaboration race), and most of the AI-first "design tool" startups - they're fine for ideation, but nothing in that tier is a durable file of record yet.

The answer, as recorded

Here's the stack I'd actually name, roughly in the order an agency should buy it: **1. Adobe Creative Cloud (All Apps, ~$60-90/seat/mo on teams)** - still the floor, not the ceiling. The reason isn't that Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign are the best tools in each category anymore; it's that client handoffs, printer preflights, freelancer onboarding, and brand guidelines are all written in `.ai`, `.indd`, and `.psd`. If you win a packaging or print account, InDesign + Acrobat is non-negotiable. Premiere/After Effects also mean you don't buy a separate motion stack. **2. Figma** - the agency file of record for anything screen-based: UI, design systems, pitch work, and crucially the comment thread clients will actually use. Multiplayer editing killed the "v4_FINAL_final.psd" problem, and FigJam covers workshops/kickoffs. Dev Mode matters if you hand off to builders. Pricing is per-seat with cheap viewer/commenter seats, which is how you let 12 client stakeholders in without paying for 12 editors. **3. Canva Teams** - don't be snobby about this one. It's how you service the volume end of retainers: social cutdowns, decks, recruitment ads, template kits you hand to the client's in-house marketer so they stop emailing you for a resize. Brand Kits + locked templates let you productize brand governance. **4. Affinity (the new single app)** - as of late October 2025, Canva rebuilt Affinity into one app combining vector, pixel, and layout, and made it **free forever** on Mac and Windows, with AI features (background removal, etc.) gated behind a Canva paid plan. At zero cost it's now the obvious thing to put on freelancer and intern machines, or on a second workstation, instead of buying marginal Adobe seats. It opens PSD/AI files. Don't rip out Adobe for it, but do use it to cap your seat count. **5. Frame.io** - video and motion review. Timestamped frame-accurate comments and approvals; included in Creative Cloud, so you likely already own it. Pair rule that works: static lives in Figma, moving lives in Frame.io, and nothing gets approved over email. **6. Webflow or Framer** - how the design file becomes a live URL you can hand to a client without a dev retainer. Framer if you're coming straight out of Figma and want speed; Webflow if the client needs a real CMS and you're building something they'll maintain for three years. **7. Ziflow (or similar dedicated proofing)** - only if you're doing regulated work: pharma, finance, CPG packaging with legal review. It gives you audit trails and version-locked approvals that Figma comments won't survive in a dispute. **What I'd skip:** Sketch (Mac-only, lost the collaboration race), and most of the AI-first "design tool" startups - they're fine for ideation, but nothing in that tier is a durable file of record yet. A caveat on sourcing: much of the "best tools for agencies 2026" material I turned up is low-quality affiliate listicles with near-identical templated wording, so I've weighted the above toward what's verifiable (pricing, licensing, launch facts) and my own read of agency workflows rather than those rankings. The Affinity-goes-free change is the one genuinely new, budget-relevant fact here. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
