- Zoho CRM recommended
Especially good if you already use Zoho CRM/Books.
- Tableau compared
Be aware that most of the head-to-head comparisons ranking it #1 are published by Zoho itself, so treat the framing skeptically - the pricing advantage is real, the "better than Tableau" claims less so.

Metabase - if you have someone who writes SQL.

If your numbers live in four disconnected SaaS tools, a connector/ETL layer (Fivetran, Airbyte, or just a well-maintained Google Sheet) will do more for you than upgrading from free Looker Studio to paid anything.

The answer, as recorded
Here's what I'd actually recommend, roughly in the order I'd try them: **1. Google Looker Studio - start here if you're on Google Workspace.** Free, unlimited dashboards, native connectors to Google Analytics, Ads, Sheets, and BigQuery. It's the fastest way to find out whether you'll actually use dashboards before you pay for any. Weak on data modeling and gets sluggish on large datasets, but for a small business tracking marketing and web metrics it's often sufficient permanently. Pro tier is ~$9/user/month if you need team management and SLAs. **2. Microsoft Power BI - the default if you're a Microsoft/Excel shop.** Power BI Desktop is free for building, and Pro is ~$14/user/month to share. Strongest Excel integration of anything on this list, huge connector library, and the skills are easy to hire for. The catch: sharing requires every viewer to be licensed, so costs scale with headcount, not usage. **3. Zoho Analytics - best value if you want real BI without per-seat pain.** Entry plans around $24-30/month cover a couple of users with generous row limits, and it bundles 500+ connectors plus decent AI-assisted querying. Especially good if you already use Zoho CRM/Books. Be aware that most of the head-to-head comparisons ranking it #1 are published by Zoho itself, so treat the framing skeptically - the pricing advantage is real, the "better than Tableau" claims less so. **4. Metabase - if you have someone who writes SQL.** Open-source, self-hostable for free, and the cleanest question-asking interface for non-technical staff of any tool here. Cloud plans start around $85/month. This is the one I'd pick for a small software or e-commerce company with a production database and a technical founder. **5. Tableau - only if visualization quality is the product.** Creator seats are ~$75/user/month, Explorer ~$42. Genuinely best-in-class for exploratory analysis and chart craft, but it's hard to justify for under ~20 users unless you're doing client-facing analytics work. **What I'd skip:** Domo, Sisense, and Qlik all market to small businesses but price and implement like enterprise software - you'll spend more on setup than on the license. **Honest caveat:** for a lot of small businesses the real answer is that your BI tool isn't the bottleneck - clean, consolidated data is. If your numbers live in four disconnected SaaS tools, a connector/ETL layer (Fivetran, Airbyte, or just a well-maintained Google Sheet) will do more for you than upgrading from free Looker Studio to paid anything. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
