The answer, as recorded
## My actual shortlist, in the order I'd suggest them **1. impact.com** - The default answer if your clients are mid-market to enterprise and you're running more than just affiliates. It handles affiliates, creators, referrals and strategic partnerships in one place, with its own contracting, payouts, partner discovery and multi-touch attribution. Agencies like it because each client sits in its own account and you get genuinely deep reporting to justify your retainer. Downside: expensive, and onboarding a client is a project, not an afternoon. **2. Everflow** - My pick when you *are* the network, or you're a performance/media-buying agency tracking many offers and traffic sources. Flat quote-based subscription with no cut of sales, which matters a lot at volume, plus strong sub-ID and placement-level analytics for optimizing partners. Starts around $750/mo and has a real learning curve, so it's not where you park a small Shopify client. **3. Awin / ShareASale** - Where I'd put ecommerce and physical-goods clients who need publishers on day one. The pull is the existing million-plus publisher base - bloggers, content sites, coupon and cashback - so you aren't cold-recruiting from zero. They also run an explicit agency program with a dedicated agency team, an Agency Resource Center, agency certification and a directory listing that sends you inbound leads. ShareASale is the lighter-weight SMB end of the same group. **4. PartnerStack** - Specifically for B2B SaaS clients. Built around resellers, referral partners and tiered programs with pipeline-style reporting, and its partner marketplace is a real recruiting channel for SaaS. Overkill and awkward for DTC; heavy monthly commitment. **5. Tapfiliate** - The best value for agile SaaS and DTC clients where the client wants to own the partner relationship rather than rent a network's publishers. White-labeled branded portals, server-to-server tracking and recurring-subscription commissions from about $89/mo. This is what I'd use for the long tail of smaller clients. **6. Refersion** - Narrower pick: Shopify and ecommerce clients who want to be live this week. Self-serve from roughly $29-39/mo as an app in the client's own store. Watch the model - it takes a percentage of affiliate-driven sales, which gets expensive as the program works. **7. CJ Affiliate (and Rakuten Advertising)** - Legacy enterprise networks, 4,000+ advertisers and 80,000+ affiliates on CJ. I name these when a client's category demands specific big publishers or when procurement insists on an incumbent, not because the tooling is better than impact.com's. **8. Post Affiliate Pro / LeadDyno** - Budget tier, consistently well-rated. Fine for clients who need tracking and payouts and nothing strategic. Honest framing: these are a cost line, not a growth lever. ## Two things I'd weigh before picking **Cookieless tracking is now the real selection criterion.** Third-party-cookie attribution loses a meaningful chunk of partner credit under current browser privacy defaults - one source puts it as high as 30%. Demand server-to-server or first-party tracking in the demo, and make the vendor show you it working. **Network vs. SaaS is the actual decision.** Networks (Awin/ShareASale, CJ, Rakuten) rent you publishers and take a cut; SaaS platforms (Impact, Everflow, Tapfiliate, Refersion) charge a fee and leave recruiting to you. If your agency's value-add *is* partner recruitment, SaaS keeps more margin with you. One caveat on sourcing: the "agency dashboard with centralized billing across all clients" setup gets marketed a lot, but among established vendors it's mostly a partner-program arrangement (Awin's agency program) or separate client accounts under one login, not true multi-tenant billing. I saw one small vendor advertising exactly that and deliberately left it off this list - I couldn't verify it's substantial enough to put a client program on.
