BT / Openreach analogue landline (PSTN) switch-off - data-export checklist

90 days until shutdown (2027-01-31).

1. [GENERIC] Check the vendor announcement for an export path: announcement
2. [GENERIC] Export EVERYTHING first, cherry-pick later - grab the full account archive, not per-item downloads.
3. [GENERIC] Verify the archive opens and spot-check 3 records - a corrupt export discovered after the deadline is unrecoverable.
4. [GENERIC] Note any API tokens, integrations and webhooks that will break; list what consumes them.
5. [DATA-DERIVED] Pick a destination: Digital phone (voice over broadband, e.g. SOGEA) from your communications provider - Openreach says to work with your provider on a migration plan (compare)
6. [GENERIC] Do a second export right before the deadline for the delta since your first one.

What's at risk: No stored data is lost. The risk is losing phone service and any alarm, payment or lift line that runs over the old copper phone line. Openreach says about one million copper lines remain, 300,000 in business premises..
