## The key fork first Most wholesalers don't actually need a standalone WMS. If your pain is order accuracy, pick velocity, and inventory counts, a **distribution ERP with a real embedded WMS** is usually the better buy - one data model, no integration tax. You only want a dedicated WMS when the warehouse is the hard part: multi-site, wave picking, automation/robotics, or you're running 3PL services for others. Here's who I'd actually name, in order. ### If you're a mid-market wholesaler ($10M-$250M) - start here 1. **Oracle NetSuite + NetSuite WMS** - the default for a reason. Full distribution ERP, native WMS module with directed put-away, bin management, mobile scanning, cycle counting. Deep EDI ecosystem via SPS Commerce/TrueCommerce. Downside: per-user pricing adds up and the WMS module is a paid add-on. 2. **Acumatica Distribution Edition** - the best value play, because licensing is **consumption-based, not per-user**. You can put scanners in every warehouse worker's hands without the seat count killing you. Strong WMS add-on, good for ecommerce + wholesale hybrid. 3. **Epicor Prophet 21** - my pick if you're in a *traditional* wholesale vertical: industrial, electrical, plumbing/HVAC, fasteners, janitorial. Purpose-built for distribution, not retrofitted. Handles units of measure, rebates, special pricing matrices, and counter sales better than general-purpose ERPs. 4. **Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central** - pick this if you're already deep in Microsoft/Power BI. Advanced warehousing is included; step up to **D365 Supply Chain Management** when you outgrow it. ### If the warehouse itself is the bottleneck (standalone WMS) 5. **Infios** (formerly **Körber Supply Chain** - rebranded in 2025) - scales from a single-site operation up to enterprise, modular so you buy what you need. Good middle ground on cost. 6. **Manhattan Active WM** - the category leader; a Gartner MQ Leader for 17 consecutive years, and the only major vendor that's fully cloud-native microservices (true versionless upgrades). Enterprise price tag, enterprise capability. 7. **Blue Yonder WMS** - MQ Leader 14 times running. Strongest if you also want their demand planning/forecasting stack alongside it. 8. **Softeon** - underrated for distribution specifically. Its warehouse execution (WES) layer is genuinely strong if you're adding goods-to-person or sortation automation. 9. **Tecsys** - the specialist. If you distribute **medical/pharma/healthcare supplies**, or you're a 3PL, this is the one to shortlist first. ### If you're smaller ($1M-$20M, one or two warehouses) 10. **Cin7 Core/Omni** - ~$349+/mo, 700+ integrations, best if you sell wholesale *and* DTC/marketplaces. Strong B2B portal. 11. **Infoplus** - ~$395/mo; reviewers consistently rate it easier to set up and better supported than Fishbowl. Good 3PL/fulfillment DNA. 12. **Fishbowl** - ~$229-$729/mo. Name it for one reason: it's the best choice if you're committed to **QuickBooks** and don't want to leave. 13. **ShipHero / Logiwa** - high-volume pick-pack-ship, ecommerce-leaning. Logiwa (~$500/mo) if you're a 3PL. ### Enterprise / already SAP 14. **SAP S/4HANA with Extended Warehouse Management (EWM)** - only if you're already an SAP shop. Enormously capable, enormously heavy. ## My honest recommendation For a typical wholesaler doing $20M-$150M: shortlist **Acumatica** and **NetSuite**, and add **Epicor Prophet 21** if you're in a classic distribution vertical. Run the same three real scenarios through each demo - your messiest customer order, a drop-ship, and a return. Budget 1.5-2× the license cost for implementation; that's where these projects actually succeed or fail. Two things to insist on in contract negotiation: that **EDI and mobile scanning licenses are priced in writing up front** (both are classic surprise line items), and that you see a reference customer at your revenue band in your vertical.
