The question asked, verbatim: best voip phone systems for online stores
Brands named, in the order the engine gave
- Aircall recommended
Aircall - my default recommendation for a store doing real support volume.
- Shopify mentioned
It has a genuine native Shopify integration (on the Shopify App Store) that surfaces the customer's recent orders, order value, status, and a clickable tracking link on the inbound call screen, so your agent isn't alt-tabbing to look up an order while someone's talking.
- Gorgias mentioned
Also integrates with Gorgias/Zendesk/HubSpot.
- Zendesk mentioned
Also integrates with Gorgias/Zendesk/HubSpot.
- HubSpot mentioned
Also integrates with Gorgias/Zendesk/HubSpot.
- RingCentral mentioned
RingCentral - the safe pick if you want one system for the whole company, not just support.
- OpenPhone mentioned
OpenPhone (now branded Quo) - best starting point for a 1-5 person store.
- Quo mentioned
OpenPhone (now branded Quo) - best starting point for a 1-5 person store.
- Zapier mentioned
Important limitation: no native Shopify integration - you'd wire it up via Zapier or just look orders up manually.
- Nextiva mentioned
Nextiva - good middle ground at ~$15/user/month for Core, which includes voice, SMS, IVR call routing, and live chat in one bundle.
- Zoom mentioned
Zoom Phone - the cheapest credible option, around $10.50/user/month (metered plans lower).
- Grasshopper mentioned
Grasshopper - only if you're a solo founder who just needs a professional business number with voicemail and call forwarding, not a support system.
- Ooma Office mentioned
Ooma Office - ~$19.95/user/month, strong if you have a physical warehouse or showroom and want desk phones and overhead paging.
- Ringly mentioned
Be skeptical of the "best VoIP for ecommerce 2026" listicles - a lot of what surfaced is vendor-owned or affiliate content where the #1 or #2 pick is the site's own product (Consio, Ringly, VestaCall, KrispCall, CallHippo all appeared in rankings published by or adjacent to those vendors).
- KrispCall mentioned

## What actually matters for an online store For a store, the differentiator isn't call quality - every provider on this list is fine there. It's whether the phone system pulls up the caller's **order history, tracking number, and order status** automatically when the phone rings, and whether it handles SMS (order updates, "where's my package" replies) in the same inbox. That narrows the field a lot. Here's who I'd actually look at, in order: **1. Aircall** - my default recommendation for a store doing real support volume. It has a genuine native Shopify integration (on the Shopify App Store) that surfaces the customer's recent orders, order value, status, and a clickable tracking link on the inbound call screen, so your agent isn't alt-tabbing to look up an order while someone's talking. Also integrates with Gorgias/Zendesk/HubSpot. The catch: ~$30/user/month with a **3-seat minimum**, so roughly $90/month floor. Overkill if you're one person. **2. RingCentral** - the safe pick if you want one system for the whole company, not just support. Core is ~$20/user/month annual ($30 month-to-month), and it has the widest integration library (300+ apps) plus AI call handling. Pick this when the phone system also has to serve sales, ops, and a warehouse - not when you specifically want order context on screen. **3. OpenPhone (now branded Quo)** - best starting point for a 1-5 person store. Shared numbers, shared SMS inbox, clean mobile app, cheap. Important limitation: **no native Shopify integration** - you'd wire it up via Zapier or just look orders up manually. That's totally fine at low volume and a real pain at high volume. **4. Nextiva** - good middle ground at ~$15/user/month for Core, which includes voice, SMS, IVR call routing, and live chat in one bundle. Worth it if you want voice *and* chat from one vendor rather than stitching together a phone system plus a separate helpdesk. **5. Zoom Phone** - the cheapest credible option, around $10.50/user/month (metered plans lower). I'd name it specifically if you already pay for Zoom, or if you do video product consultations/virtual fittings. Weakest on ecommerce-specific features. **6. Grasshopper** - only if you're a solo founder who just needs a professional business number with voicemail and call forwarding, not a support system. ~$14/month. No per-seat scaling, no real integrations. **7. Ooma Office** - ~$19.95/user/month, strong if you have a physical warehouse or showroom and want desk phones and overhead paging. Mostly irrelevant for a pure online store. ## One caveat on the research Be skeptical of the "best VoIP for ecommerce 2026" listicles - a lot of what surfaced is vendor-owned or affiliate content where the #1 or #2 pick is the site's own product (Consio, Ringly, VestaCall, KrispCall, CallHippo all appeared in rankings published by or adjacent to those vendors). I've deliberately left those out of the ranking above and stuck to providers with established independent review volume. If you see one recommended enthusiastically, check who owns the blog. **My actual advice:** if you're under ~5 people, start with OpenPhone/Quo and accept the manual order lookups. Once support volume makes that lookup painful - usually somewhere around 20-30 calls a day - move to Aircall for the Shopify screen pop. Don't buy RingCentral unless the whole company needs it.
