The answer, as recorded

Here's who I'd actually name, roughly in the order I'd suggest them: **1. Eventbrite** - the default starting point, mainly because of discovery. It's the biggest self-service marketplace, so some of your ticket sales come from people browsing the platform rather than from your own marketing. Good for workshops, community events, conferences, small-to-mid festivals. The catch is the fee: roughly **3.7% + $1.79** per paid ticket on Essentials, up to **6.2% + $1.79** on Professional. Free events are free to list. If you already have an audience, you're paying a lot for discovery you don't need. **2. Ticket Tailor** - what I'd recommend to most organisers who have their own audience. Flat per-ticket pricing (about **$0.26/ticket**, or monthly plans from ~$19) with no percentage cut, so on a $50 ticket you pay ~$0.26 versus Eventbrite's ~$3.64. You connect your own Stripe/PayPal, so money lands in your account directly rather than being held until after the event. No marketplace though - you bring the traffic. **3. Humanitix** - effectively free for the organiser; the booking fee sits with the attendee (~**5% + $1.29** in the US, **3.9% + $1.29** for nonprofits and schools) and 100% of net profits go to education charities. Strong pick for charity, school, and community events where the fee story is itself a selling point. Big in Australia/NZ, growing in the US/UK. **4. Tito (ti.to)** - my pick specifically for professional and tech conferences. Clean checkout, excellent handling of multi-ticket/team purchases, invoices, VAT, discount codes and waitlists, plus a proper API. Pricing is a modest per-ticket cut with your own Stripe - I didn't manage to verify their current rate in this search, so check ti.to/pricing before committing. **5. DICE** - if you're running gigs, club nights or live music. Mobile-first, hard anti-scalping stance (ticket transfer only through its own waitlist), and genuinely strong audience discovery in music cities. It's curated, so you have to be accepted, and you give up some control over presentation. **6. Cvent** - only if you're enterprise: large corporate events, hospitality, hybrid meetings, complex approvals and procurement. It does far more than ticketing (venue sourcing, badging, lead capture) and is priced and implemented accordingly. Overkill for anything under a few hundred attendees. **7. Zoho Backstage** - worth a look if you want an all-in-one event stack (website builder, agenda, attendee app) with **zero commission** on ticket sales. Free tier plus paid plans from ~$99/month. Best value if you're already in the Zoho ecosystem. Quick heuristic: **selling to an audience you already have → Ticket Tailor or Tito** (flat fees, own payment processor). **Need strangers to find your event → Eventbrite or DICE.** **Charity/school/community → Humanitix.** **Enterprise → Cvent.** One thing worth checking on any platform before you sign: whether payouts arrive as tickets sell or only after the event - that cash-flow difference matters more than a half-percent of fees if you're paying deposits upfront. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
