The answer, as recorded
"Agency" splits into two pretty different buying situations, and the right answer depends on which one you're in. Here's how I'd rank them. ## If you run SMS for ecommerce/DTC brands (retention agencies) **1. Klaviyo** - My default first recommendation. Email + SMS in one platform means one subscriber profile, one segmentation engine, and one attribution story to show clients. Most of your clients probably already have it for email, so adding SMS is an upsell rather than a migration. The agency partner program is the most mature in the space (tiering, deal registration, directory listings that actually generate leads). The catch: its SMS is good-not-best, and deliverability tooling is thinner than the SMS-only specialists. **2. Postscript** - The pick if your clients are Shopify and SMS is the whole point. Built Shopify-first, ~45 segmentation filters, strong two-way conversational selling, and now SMS/MMS/RCS. Self-service pricing means you can stand up a small client without an enterprise contract. Its explicit assumption is that email lives elsewhere (usually Klaviyo), so plan on a two-platform stack. Partner program is open to marketing agencies, dev shops, and app developers. **3. Attentive** - Where I'd go for your biggest, highest-volume accounts. Enterprise-grade compliance function, AI personalization, 100+ integrations, and SMS/MMS/RCS/email/push under one roof. Over $500M ARR as of 2024, and that size shows up as real managed service - onboarding specialists, strategists, dedicated compliance. Downside for agencies: demo-gated custom pricing and heavy managed service can mean they're partly competing with you for the strategy work. Bad fit for small clients. ## If you're a general marketing agency serving local/SMB clients **4. GoHighLevel** - The honest answer for this segment, even though it's not really an "SMS platform." ~60,000 agencies and 1.2M small businesses on it. You get genuine white-label (your branding, your domain), unlimited sub-accounts, client resale with your own markup, plus CRM, funnels, and email bundled in. If you're billing 20 dental offices or gyms for "marketing," this is the margin play. The SMS is Twilio under the hood, so it's plumbing, not a best-in-class campaign tool. **5. Brevo** - Good middle ground if you want real sub-account management (separate IPs and permissions per client) with email, SMS, WhatsApp, and chat in one suite, without GoHighLevel's all-in-one lock-in. Cleaner, cheaper, less sprawling. **6. SimpleTexting or SlickText** - For a handful of clients where you just need a polished campaign builder, keyword campaigns, and an AI writing assistant. No real multi-tenancy, so these stop scaling around 5-10 accounts. ## If you want to own the infrastructure **7. Twilio** - Only if you have dev resources and want to build your own client-facing layer. Full control, best unit economics at volume, zero UI. Most agencies that go here regret it unless messaging is the core product. **8. Burst SMS / TextMagic** - Burst SMS has a true reseller platform with unlimited managed accounts in one place; TextMagic is pay-as-you-go with no monthly commitment, which is useful for low-volume or seasonal clients where per-client subscriptions would eat your margin. ## Two things that will bite you regardless **10DLC registration and A2P compliance** is now the real operational cost of running agency SMS in the US - every client brand needs its own registration, and throughput is capped by trust score. Platforms with a staffed compliance function (Attentive, Klaviyo) save you meaningful hours versus raw Twilio or white-label resellers where you own the paperwork. **Carrier/TCPA liability** often lands on you as the sender of record in white-label setups. Worth reading who holds it in any reseller agreement before you sign. My short version: **Klaviyo if ecommerce, GoHighLevel if local SMB, Attentive for enterprise accounts.** Sources: - [Best SMS Marketing Platforms for 2026 - Subtext](https://info.joinsubtext.com/blog/best-sms-marketing-platform-2026) - [Best SMS Marketing Platforms for 2026 - SlickText](https://www.slicktext.com/blog/2025/10/best-sms-marketing-platforms/) - [Attentive vs Postscript: Which SMS Platform Fits Your Brand in 2026](https://resources.rework.com/tools/messaging-sms/attentive-vs-postscript) - [Postscript Partner Program](https://postscript.io/partner-resources) - [Klaviyo vs. Postscript](https://www.klaviyo.com/uk/compare/klaviyo-vs-postscript) - [Klaviyo SMS vs Postscript - Nudgify](https://www.nudgify.com/klaviyo-sms-vs-postscript/) - [GoHighLevel vs Klaviyo - Nudgify](https://www.nudgify.com/gohighlevel-vs-klaviyo/) - [White Label SMS - Burst SMS](https://burstsms.com/white-label-sms) - [White-label tools for agencies - TextUs](https://textus.com/blog/white-label-tools-for-agencies) - [Klaviyo vs Attentive vs Postscript - Arctic Leaf](https://www.arcticleaf.io/blog/learning-center/klaviyo-attentive-postscript)

Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
