## My shortlist, in the order I'd actually suggest them **1. Apollo.io** - Where I'd start for most small businesses. It's the only one that bundles the contact database (~275M+ contacts) *with* the sequencing, dialer, and a light CRM, so you're not paying separately for data and for outreach. There's a real free tier, and paid plans land roughly in the $49-$99/user/mo range. If you're doing cold outbound and don't already have a list, this is the best value per dollar by a wide margin. **2. HubSpot Sales Hub** - The pick if you want one system instead of a stack. CRM, sequences, meeting links, call tracking, and reporting in one place, with a free CRM tier to grow into. Downside: sequences are gated behind the paid tiers and HubSpot's pricing escalates once you add seats and marketing features. Choose this if "we also need a CRM" is part of the question. ([Capterra ranks it #1 for SMB sales engagement](https://www.capterra.com/sem-compare/sales-engagement-platform-software/)) **3. Close CRM** - Best for small *phone-and-SMS* driven teams - agencies, home services, anything where you're calling leads back fast. Built-in power dialer and texting rather than bolted-on, and it's genuinely usable by a non-technical 2-5 person team. Roughly $35/user/mo (Essentials, annual) up to ~$99 for Growth with the dialer and sequences. ([pricing](https://toolradar.com/tools/close-crm/pricing)) **4. Instantly.ai** - If your motion is purely cold email at volume. Unlimited connected mailboxes on paid plans, built-in inbox warmup, and deliverability tooling, from about $47/mo (not per-seat, which matters a lot at your size). It is *not* a CRM - pair it with something else. ([comparison](https://www.joinvalley.co/blog/instantly-vs-smartlead-vs-lemlist)) **5. lemlist** - Pick this over Instantly if LinkedIn is where your buyers live; it's the one of that group that natively automates LinkedIn steps alongside email, plus strong image/video personalization. ~$69/mo email-only, ~$109/user/mo multichannel. **6. Reply.io** - Solid multichannel sequencer with a decent AI SDR agent, around $99/user/mo. I'd only reach for it if you've tried Apollo and want better sequence logic. **7. Pipedrive** - Worth naming because so many small teams already run it. Its native sequencing is thin, but it's cheap, dead simple, and pairs well with Instantly or lemlist. ## What I'd skip **Outreach and Salesloft.** Both are excellent and both are built for 50+ rep orgs - real pricing is ~$100-160/user/mo on multi-year contracts with implementation fees and annual minimums, and the admin overhead assumes you have a sales ops person. ([Outreach vs Salesloft pricing](https://www.costbench.com/compare/outreach-vs-salesloft/)) Under about 10 reps you'd pay for governance you won't use. ## The honest answer If you have under 10 reps and no list: **Apollo**. If you need the CRM too: **HubSpot**. If you live on the phone: **Close**. Everything else on this list is a narrower bet. One caveat on the research: a lot of the "best platform 2026" listicles in these results are affiliate-driven and the pricing numbers drift between them (I saw one source claim $500-1,000/seat for Salesloft, which is off by roughly 5x against Salesloft's own tiers). Treat my figures as directional and confirm on the vendors' own pricing pages before you commit - and take the 14-day trials, which all of these offer. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
