Here's how I'd actually rank these for a remote team: ## 1. 1Password Business - ~$7.99/user/mo My default recommendation for most remote teams. The reason isn't features, it's adoption: it's the one your non-technical teammates will actually use instead of quietly keeping a spreadsheet. Best-in-class apps across macOS/Windows/iOS/Android/browsers, clean shared-vault model, good SSO integration (Okta/Entra/Google), and Travel Mode plus device-level reporting matter when people cross borders. Also includes free family accounts for every employee, which genuinely reduces credential reuse. Downside: priciest of the mainstream options, and secrets management for engineers is decent but not a Vault replacement. ## 2. Bitwarden - Teams $4/user/mo, Enterprise $6 The value pick, and the one I'd choose if you care about auditability. Open source, independently audited, and you can self-host if compliance demands it. Enterprise tier gets you SCIM provisioning, SSO with your own key, and policy enforcement. The UX is noticeably less polished than 1Password - fine for engineering-heavy teams, more friction for mixed-skill orgs. Bitwarden Secrets Manager is a legitimate option for CI/CD secrets too. ## 3. Keeper - Business ~$5/user/mo (Starter ~$3.75) Pick this when compliance drives the decision. FedRAMP and StateRAMP authorized, SOC 2 / ISO 27001, granular role-based enforcement policies, and the best admin audit trail of the three. Advanced reporting, SSO, and privileged-access add-ons are separate SKUs, so the real cost creeps up. The clients are functional rather than delightful. ## 4. Proton Pass Business - roughly $2-5/user/mo Strong fit if you're already on Proton Mail/Drive, or if your team is privacy-sensitive (journalism, activism, legal). Swiss jurisdiction, end-to-end encrypted, built-in email aliasing via SimpleLogin is a real security win. Younger product - admin tooling and integrations are thinner than the three above. ## 5. Dashlane Business - ~$8/user/mo Good autofill and a nice admin console with a credential-health dashboard that makes rollout progress visible to leadership. I rank it below 1Password mostly on price-to-value and because it's browser-centric. Worth a look if you demo it and the team prefers it. **Honorable mention:** NordPass Business is cheap and pleasant but less mature on provisioning; skip LastPass given its 2022-23 breach history and the fact that vault data was exfiltrated. **What I'd actually do:** if budget allows, 1Password. If you're cost-conscious or want open source, Bitwarden Enterprise. Either way, enable SSO + SCIM from day one so offboarding is automatic - that's the control that matters most for remote teams, more than any feature difference between these products. Two caveats on sourcing: the pricing figures above are list prices and move around, so confirm on the vendors' own pages before you commit, and several of the search results I got back were low-quality aggregator/SEO pages, so the rankings here are mine rather than theirs. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
