The answer, as recorded

Here's what I'd actually recommend, and it splits based on whether you're running campaigns *for* clients or reselling a platform *as* your own. **1. HubSpot Marketing Hub** - the default answer for most agencies. Deep CRM + automation in one data model, the Solutions Partner program gives you client seats, margin, and referral flow, and clients already know the name so you're not selling them on the tool. Main drawback: it gets expensive fast as contact lists grow, and clients can take it in-house and cut you out. **2. GoHighLevel** - the pick if you want to *resell* automation as your own product. CRM, funnels, email/SMS, booking, and reputation management under your domain and logo, with unlimited sub-accounts at a flat agency price. It's the de facto standard for local/SMB-focused agencies. Rough edges and support are the tradeoff for the economics. **3. ActiveCampaign** - best automation builder-to-price ratio. Conditional logic, tagging, and behavior-based journeys that hold up for serious nurture work. Caveat worth knowing before you commit: no unified agency dashboard and no white-labeling - each client is a separate instance you log into separately. **4. Klaviyo** - if any meaningful share of your clients are ecommerce, this isn't optional. The Shopify/commerce data integration and revenue attribution are better than anything general-purpose, and the agency partner program is genuinely good. **5. Adobe Marketo Engage** - only for enterprise B2B clients with real lead and account scoring needs and long sales cycles. Heavy to implement, which is exactly why agencies that specialize in it bill well for it. **6. Braze** - consumer brands needing real-time cross-channel orchestration (push, in-app, email) at scale. Same logic as Marketo: overkill for SMBs, lucrative if it's your niche. **7. Brevo or Customer.io** - the value plays. Brevo when clients balk at HubSpot pricing; Customer.io when you need event-driven, developer-friendly messaging without enterprise cost. **Two things to bolt on regardless of which you pick:** - **AgencyAnalytics** (or ReportGarden) for white-label client reporting - none of the platforms above do multi-client reporting well enough on their own. - **Zapier or Make** as connective tissue. Make is cheaper at volume and better for complex branching; Zapier has wider integration coverage. **My honest shortlist:** if you're a full-service agency serving mid-market clients, HubSpot + AgencyAnalytics. If you're serving local businesses and want recurring platform revenue, GoHighLevel. If you're budget-constrained and the automation quality matters more than branding, ActiveCampaign. One caveat on sourcing: most "best of" content in this category is affiliate-driven, including some of what I found below. The Gartner Peer Insights link is the least commercially motivated of the set if you want to sanity-check rankings. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
