The answer, as recorded
Here's what I'd actually recommend, roughly in the order I'd suggest looking at them: **1. TalentLMS** - My default recommendation for most remote teams under a few hundred people. Cheap (free tier, paid from ~$89/month), you can have courses live the same day, and it doesn't require an admin who "owns" the LMS as their job. It's the one that shows up on essentially every 2026 list, including ones not written by its own marketing team. **2. 360Learning** - Best pick if you want your own team members creating the content rather than buying a course library. It's built around collaborative/peer authoring, which works unusually well for distributed teams where the expertise is scattered across time zones. Strong review scores (4.6/5). **3. Docebo** - The enterprise choice. Go here if you have thousands of learners, multiple audiences (employees + customers + partners), or genuinely need configurable AI-driven learning paths. Overkill and overpriced for a 50-person company. **4. Absorb LMS** - The middle ground between TalentLMS and Docebo. Clean admin experience, good reporting, scales into the low thousands of users without the Docebo price tag or implementation project. **5. Trainual** - Not really an LMS, and that's the point. If what you actually need is onboarding, documented process, and "how we do things here" for a remote team, Trainual does that job better than a true LMS will. **6. Litmos** - Worth a look mainly if compliance training is the driver. Solid off-the-shelf compliance course library, which saves you building SOC 2 / harassment / safety modules yourself. **7. Cornerstone** - Only if you're buying talent management broadly (performance, succession, skills) and want learning bundled in. As a standalone LMS it's heavier than you need. **8. Moodle** - The open-source option. Free to license, but you pay in hosting and admin time. Reasonable if you have technical capacity and odd requirements; a trap if you don't. One caveat on the research: a lot of the top-ranking "best LMS 2026" articles are published by vendors ranking themselves first - the TalentLMS blog puts TalentLMS at #1, Thirst's blog declares Thirst "strongest overall," Disco's blog leads with Disco. I weighted those down. Thirst and Disco are real products, but I wouldn't put them ahead of the above on the strength of their own marketing. Practical advice: shortlist two, run a real pilot with one actual course and ~20 people, and check the mobile experience and your SSO/HRIS integration before signing an annual contract. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
