- PushPress recommended
PushPress - My default recommendation for independent gyms and CrossFit/functional-fitness boxes.
- Max mentioned
Transparent flat pricing (real free tier, then ~$159/mo Core Pro, ~$229/mo Core Max, month-to-month, no contract), solid billing and check-in, and it doesn't charge by member count - so growing doesn't silently raise your bill.
- Zen Planner compared
Zen Planner - Best fit if you run martial arts, BJJ, or anything with belt/rank progression and family memberships, which it handles natively better than anyone.
- G2 mentioned
Rated ~7.8/10 on G2.
- ABC Glofox mentioned
ABC Glofox - The one I'd pick for boutique studios (pilates, yoga, barre) that care about brand.

- Mariana Tek mentioned
ABC Fitness / Mariana Tek - The enterprise/multi-location tier.

Wodify - Only if workout tracking and leaderboards are central to your culture.

The answer, as recorded
There's no single winner here - gym software splits hard by what kind of gym you run. A CrossFit box, a boutique cycling studio, and a 24/7 access-card gym want genuinely different products. Here's who I'd actually name, in order: **1. PushPress** - My default recommendation for independent gyms and CrossFit/functional-fitness boxes. Transparent flat pricing (real free tier, then ~$159/mo Core Pro, ~$229/mo Core Max, month-to-month, no contract), solid billing and check-in, and it doesn't charge by member count - so growing doesn't silently raise your bill. Add-ons (CRM/marketing, branded app) are à la carte, which is both the upside and the catch: a full stack gets expensive fast. **2. Zen Planner** - Best fit if you run martial arts, BJJ, or anything with belt/rank progression and family memberships, which it handles natively better than anyone. Roughly $99-$289/mo scaled by member count, branded app ~$39/mo, texting per message. Rated ~7.8/10 on G2. Member-count pricing means it punishes growth, and customization is limited. **3. ABC Glofox** - The one I'd pick for boutique studios (pilates, yoga, barre) that care about brand. Members book through *your* app, not a shared marketplace, and the interface is cleaner than Mindbody's. Highest-rated of the three majors on G2 (~8.0/10). Pricing is quote-only, which I dislike - expect to negotiate. **4. Mindbody** - I name it for consumer-discovery value, not software quality. Its marketplace genuinely sends you new clients, which nothing else on this list does. But it's the lowest-rated of the group (6.9/10 on G2, 4.0/5 across ~3,000 Capterra reviews), the admin UI is cluttered, and the marketplace trains your members to shop competitors. Worth it if client acquisition is your bottleneck; skip it otherwise. **5. ABC Fitness / Mariana Tek** - The enterprise/multi-location tier. ABC Fitness for traditional big-box and franchise operations (24/7 access control, collections, high member volume); Mariana Tek for premium multi-studio brands (rated 4.5/5). Both quote-only, both involve real contracts and implementation time. Overkill under ~3 locations. **6. ABC Trainerize** - Not a gym-management system, but worth naming: if your business is mostly personal training or online coaching, this is the right tool, from ~$22.50/mo and rated 4.6/5. Many gyms run it *alongside* one of the above rather than instead of. **7. Wodify** - Only if workout tracking and leaderboards are central to your culture. Starts ~$79/mo but higher tiers are contact-sales. Narrower than PushPress at comparable cost. Two things worth knowing before you shop. First, a lot of "best gym software 2026" listicles are written by the vendors themselves or by affiliates - several results I pulled were PushPress's own blog ranking PushPress #1, and one was an unrelated medical-research domain running SEO filler. I weighted G2/Capterra review volume over those rankings. Second, the real cost driver isn't the monthly fee, it's payment processing and data migration. Ask every vendor their processing rate and whether you can export your full member and billing history, and get both in writing before signing. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
