One caveat on sourcing: much of the "best FSM 2026" content that surfaces in search is affiliate-driven listicles, and some of it recycles outdated entries (one result still listed ClickSoftware, which Salesforce absorbed into Field Service years ago).

The answer, as recorded
## My actual recommendations, in order **1. Jobber - the default pick for most small service businesses** The best balance of capability and sanity. Strong scheduling/dispatch, quoting, invoicing, client CRM, two-way SMS, GPS tracking, QuickBooks sync, and a genuinely good mobile app for techs. Trade-agnostic, so it fits landscaping, cleaning, HVAC, handyman, pest, etc. Pricing is roughly $49/mo (Core, 1 user), $129-139 (Connect, up to 5 users), $199-249 (Grow, up to 15), with extra seats around $29/mo. 14-day trial, no hard sales gauntlet. If you're 5-25 techs, this is where I'd start. **2. Housecall Pro - if you want to be running this week** Fastest to set up and the easiest for non-technical techs to adopt, which is the thing that actually kills FSM rollouts. Good consumer-facing polish (booking, customer notifications, payments). Roughly $49/mo entry up past $300 depending on seats and tier. Best for 1-8 techs in home services who want operational speed over reporting depth. Weaker than Jobber on deep job costing and reporting. **3. Workiz - best for dispatch-heavy, phone-driven shops** Built-in VoIP phone system with call recording and lead-source attribution is the differentiator; if your jobs come in by phone (locksmith, junk removal, garage doors, appliance repair, towing), this pays for itself in knowing which ads actually produce calls. Rated ~4.5-4.6 on G2/Capterra. **4. Kickserv - best budget option** Cheapest credible full FSM, with a free tier and low-cost paid plans, plus QuickBooks integration. Consistently praised for responsive support, which matters when you have no IT person. Less slick and less automated than Jobber, but fine for a 1-5 person shop that mainly needs scheduling, work orders, and invoices. **5. FieldEdge or Service Fusion - if you're a QuickBooks-centric trades contractor** FieldEdge is purpose-built for HVAC/plumbing/electrical with real-time QuickBooks Desktop/Online sync, service agreements, and equipment history tracking. Service Fusion is similar in spirit with flat-rate (not per-user) pricing, which is attractive if you have many light users. Both are quote-based pricing and heavier to implement. **6. ServiceTitan - only once you've outgrown the above** Genuinely the most powerful product in the category, but it's enterprise software: operators commonly report 5-10x the cost of competitors plus implementation fees and annual contracts. Don't buy this under ~20-25 techs; the ROI story depends on call-center volume and marketing attribution you probably don't have yet. **Honorable mention:** **Simpro** if you do project-based work with materials and multi-stage jobs rather than short service calls, and **Zoho FSM** if you're already in the Zoho ecosystem and price-sensitive. ## How I'd actually choose Trial Jobber and Housecall Pro side by side for two weeks with your two most skeptical techs - mobile-app adoption decides this more than feature lists. Then verify three things before you commit: payment processing rates (this is where margin quietly leaks), whether SMS is metered on top of your plan, and how the accounting sync handles your specific QuickBooks version. One caveat on sourcing: much of the "best FSM 2026" content that surfaces in search is affiliate-driven listicles, and some of it recycles outdated entries (one result still listed ClickSoftware, which Salesforce absorbed into Field Service years ago). The pricing figures above are approximate and change often - confirm on the vendors' own pricing pages before budgeting.
