The answer, as recorded

"Event management software" splits into two very different products, so here's what I'd actually recommend in each case, best-first. ## If you run events (ticketing, registration, check-in) 1. **Ticket Tailor** - my default pick for most small businesses selling tickets. Flat fee per ticket (~$0.85 pay-as-you-go, down to ~$0.30 with prepaid credits) instead of a percentage, and money goes straight to your own Stripe/PayPal account. On 200 tickets that's roughly $170 vs. ~$580 on Eventbrite. Free events cost nothing. 2. **Eventbrite** - worth its higher fees (~3.7% + $1.79 service fee, plus ~2.9% processing) *only* if you need discovery. Its marketplace actually sells tickets for you, which no flat-fee competitor does. If your audience is your existing email list, you're paying for a feature you won't use. 3. **RSVPify** - best when the event is free or invite-only: branded registration pages, RSVP logic, guest lists, check-in, with a usable free tier. Good for corporate dinners, open houses, workshops. 4. **Zoho Backstage** - strong if you're already in the Zoho ecosystem; subscription-based rather than per-ticket, with decent agenda/speaker/badge tooling. 5. **Whova** - pick this specifically for multi-session conferences where the attendee app and networking matter (3% + $0.99 per paid ticket, free tickets free). 6. **Zeffy** - only if you're a nonprofit. Genuinely $0 in fees (it asks attendees for optional tips instead). Nothing else matches it on cost. Skip **Cvent** and **Bizzabo** at small-business scale - enterprise pricing and procurement cycles you don't need. ## If you're an event *planning* business (clients, contracts, logistics) 1. **HoneyBook** ($29-$109/mo) - best for solo planners and small teams. Proposals, contracts, invoicing, payments, client portal. Caveat: no timelines, budgets, floor plans, or guest lists, so it's a business-ops tool, not an event-ops tool. 2. **Planning Pod** - the one I'd name if logistics are the hard part: floor plans, venue/room booking, catering, vendor and BEO tracking. Dense interface with a real learning curve, but it replaces the spreadsheet stack. 3. **Aisle Planner** ($39.99-$229.99/mo) - weddings specifically. Design boards, seating charts, guest lists, vendor coordination. Pricing scales with active projects, and it's a poor fit for corporate work. **Short version:** selling tickets → Ticket Tailor (Eventbrite only if you need its audience); free/invite events → RSVPify; running a planning business → HoneyBook, or Planning Pod if venue logistics dominate. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
