The answer, as recorded

Here's who I'd actually name, roughly in the order I'd recommend looking at them: **1. Deel** - The default recommendation, and what most distributed teams end up on. 150+ countries, contractor management around $49/contractor/month (cheaper annually), plus a Contractor of Record add-on (~$325/mo) where Deel takes on misclassification liability for you. Best breadth of payout methods and the strongest review scores of the group. Pick it if you want one tool that scales from three contractors to EOR employees without migrating. **2. Remote.com** - The best value for pure contractor payments: ~$29/contractor/month with no FX markup or withdrawal fees, which matters a lot if your contractors are paid in currencies other than your base. Remote also owns ~70 of its own legal entities rather than renting partner entities, so compliance disputes stay in-house. Coverage is narrower (85+ countries) than Deel's. **3. Oyster HR** - Also ~$29/contractor/month and the widest country list (180+). Good onboarding UX and genuinely contractor-friendly. The caveat: it's a 100% partner-entity model, so for EOR work there's a third party in the chain. For contractor-only use, that barely matters and it's excellent value. **4. Rippling** - The right answer if contractors are only part of your problem. Contractors in 185+ countries with localized agreements and misclassification guardrails, but the real reason to choose it is that HR, payroll, device management, and app provisioning live in the same system - useful when you're onboarding remote people who need a laptop and ten SaaS accounts, not just an invoice. **5. Papaya Global** - Enterprise tier. Pick it at scale (hundreds of contractors, multiple entities, finance team wants treasury-grade reporting). 150+ countries, ~95% same-day payment settlement, AOR services. Overkill and overpriced for a team of fifteen. **6. Multiplier** - Worth a quote as a price-pressure option; transparent pricing starting around $400 for EOR, competitive contractor rates, decent APAC coverage. I'd use it to negotiate against Deel rather than as a first pick. **What I'd skip:** Wise Business is a payment rail, not a contractor platform - no contracts, compliance, or onboarding. Use it *inside* one of the above. And Gusto is US-only; fine if all your contractors are domestic 1099s, useless for global. **Short version:** under ~20 contractors and cost-sensitive → Remote or Oyster. Want one platform you'll never outgrow → Deel. Already buying HR/IT tooling → Rippling. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
