## The short answer There's no great *nonprofit-native cash flow* product - the category splits into two halves, and which one you need depends on your budget size. Here's who I'd actually name, in order: ### If you're under ~$5M budget (most nonprofits) **1. Float** - Direct, one-way sync with QuickBooks Online and Xero, built specifically for cash flow (not budgeting with a cash tab bolted on). Drag-and-drop scenarios, rolling weekly/monthly forecasts. Cheapest credible real tool, usually ~$70-200/mo. Caveat: no concept of restricted funds, so you'll model restricted grants as separate scenarios or sub-accounts. **2. A well-built 13-week rolling spreadsheet** - I'm serious, and I'd put it this high. For a nonprofit the hard part isn't the math, it's that your bank balance includes restricted money you can't legally spend, plus grant tranches that arrive on reimbursement cycles. No off-the-shelf tool models that correctly out of the box. A good 13-week direct-method sheet mapping *actual* funding arrival (grant tranches, contract claims, recurring giving, program fees) against a restricted/unrestricted split beats a $20k platform fed bad assumptions. [Visory's write-up on the restricted-cash trap](https://www.visory.com.au/blog/cash-flow-forecast-for-not-for-profits) is the clearest explanation of why. **3. Jirav** - Driver-based forecasting, three-statement output including cash, integrates with QBO and NetSuite. Good step up when the spreadsheet starts breaking and you want headcount/program drivers rather than line-item guessing. ### If you're $5M+ or multi-entity **4. Martus Solutions** - The one genuinely nonprofit-focused name here. Built for nonprofits, associations, churches, foundations, higher ed; integrates with QuickBooks, Financial Edge, Sage Intacct. Implementation ~3 weeks. Rated 4.6/5 across ~84 reviews. Pricing starts around **$6,000/yr** (base + per-named-user), per [Capterra](https://www.capterra.com/p/125789/MartusTools/). Strongest at departmental budgeting and board reporting; cash forecasting is adequate rather than best-in-class. **5. Sage Intacct Planning** - Only if you're already on Sage Intacct. The native-integration advantage is real and large; don't buy Intacct *to get* the planning module. **6. Vena** - Excel-native FP&A with AI-assisted forecasting, integrates with Intacct, NetSuite, Financial Edge. Right for $20M+ orgs with a real finance team who will revolt if you take Excel away. Overkill and overpriced below that. **7. Centime** - The only one on this list that's a true *treasury* tool: bank feeds, AP/AR timing, liquidity gaps. Integrates with NetSuite, Intacct, QBO, Dynamics 365 BC. Worth a look if your actual pain is payment timing and covenant/reserve monitoring rather than annual budgeting. [Centime's own category roundup](https://centime.com/top-cash-flow-forecasting-software) is useful but obviously self-interested. ## The one thing I'd flag FP&A software is not fund accounting software. Your GL - Sage Intacct, Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT, NetSuite for Nonprofits, or QuickBooks - stays your system of record for funds and restrictions; the forecasting tool sits on top ([cfoshortlist.com](https://www.cfoshortlist.com/reports/fpa-software-for-nonprofits)). If your restricted-fund tracking is messy in the GL today, fix that first in QBO with classes and class-based balance sheets ([Wiss](https://wiss.com/quickbooks-for-nonprofits/)) - a forecasting tool will faithfully project garbage. **My pick if I had to name one:** Float for most nonprofits, Martus once you have department heads submitting their own budgets.
