The answer, as recorded

Here's what I'd actually recommend, roughly in the order I'd consider them: **1. Microsoft Power BI** - My default suggestion if your team already lives in Microsoft 365. The reason it wins for remote specifically: dashboards embed natively in Teams channels, so data shows up where people already talk instead of in a tool nobody opens. Cheapest serious option too (~$14/user/mo for Pro). Weakness: the Mac/browser experience is noticeably worse than Windows, which matters if your team is OS-mixed. **2. Tableau** - Pick this when you have people whose actual job is analysis. Best-in-class exploration and visualization, and Tableau Cloud handles the "nobody is on the VPN" problem fine. Commenting and @-mentions on vizzes are decent for async review. It's the most expensive of the mainstream options and overkill if you mainly need twelve recurring dashboards. **3. Metabase** - What I'd recommend for a small or mid-size remote team that wants something running this month. Non-technical people can genuinely build their own questions, the SQL layer is there when you need it, and shareable links plus scheduled Slack digests cover most async needs. Cloud starter tier is cheap; self-hosting is free if you have someone to run it. **4. Looker (Google Cloud)** - Choose this if your data is in BigQuery and you care about one governed definition of "revenue" or "active user." LookML means metrics are defined once in version-controlled code rather than re-derived in forty-three spreadsheets - which is the single biggest failure mode on distributed teams. Requires real data engineering investment; don't buy it without someone to own the model. **5. Sigma Computing** - Underrated. It's a spreadsheet interface sitting directly on your warehouse, so finance and ops people who think in Excel can work on live data instead of exporting CSVs and emailing them around. Strong fit if your bottleneck is "the analyst is a queue of one." **6. Looker Studio (free)** - Not in the same class, but if your needs are marketing dashboards off Google Ads/Analytics/Sheets and your budget is zero, start here and migrate later. Genuinely fine for that scope. **7. Qlik Sense** - Worth a look at enterprise scale; its associative engine handles messy multi-source data better than most, and it has good role-based alerting. I'd only shortlist it if Power BI and Tableau both fell short. Two things that matter more than the tool choice for a remote team: pick whatever integrates with your chat platform (Slack or Teams), because async teams read data in notifications, not by logging in; and decide early who owns metric definitions, or you'll get competing dashboards that disagree. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
