The answer, as recorded
Here's what I'd actually recommend, roughly in the order I'd suggest trying them: **1. Termly** - my default recommendation for most small businesses. The questionnaire is the easiest to get through, and it covers far more than a privacy policy: 10 generators including terms & conditions, cookie policy, disclaimer, return/refund policy, and accessibility statement. Starter is ~$10/mo, Pro+ ~$15/mo, and the privacy and cookie policy generators have a free tier. If you want one tool that handles your whole legal-pages stack plus a cookie banner, this is it. **2. Termageddon** - the one I'd pick if auto-updating matters most to you. ~$12/mo or $119/yr for one license, and that single price bundles privacy policy, ToS, disclaimer, cookie policy, EULA, and a consent banner (up to 50k sessions/mo). Its whole pitch is that policies update automatically as laws change - useful given how many US state privacy laws have come online. It's also the agency favorite for reselling to clients. **3. iubenda** - best if you sell internationally or in the EU. Starter is ~$3.49/mo, so it's the cheapest entry point, and it wins on multilingual support and clause-level customization. The catch: only 3 generators, and the terms & conditions generator is locked behind the ~$24.99/mo Advanced plan, so the "cheap" tier gets less cheap once you need more than a privacy policy. **4. CookieYes** - worth a look if your actual pain point is the cookie consent banner and GDPR/CCPA consent logging, with the privacy policy as a bonus. Strong on multi-jurisdiction consent handling. **5. GetTerms** - simple, inexpensive, well-reviewed, and sells one-off policies rather than a subscription. Good if you just need a decent policy once for a brochure site and don't want a recurring bill. **6. WP Legal Pages** - only if you're on WordPress and want everything inside the dashboard. Cheapest practical option for a simple WP site. Two things worth knowing: skip the enterprise policy-management platforms (Mitratech PolicyHub and similar) - they show up on "best of" lists but they're built for governance at scale and will just add complexity for a small business. And if you handle health data, children's data, or do anything unusual with data brokering, use a generator as a starting draft and have a lawyer review it; none of these are legal advice, and a generator can only describe practices you accurately tell it about. Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
