FreshBooks ($23/mo Lite) - best if you bill for your time.** It started as an invoicing tool and it shows: time tracking, retainers, project profitability, and proposals are all first-class. Best-in-class support, too. This is my default pick for consultants, designers, writers, and anyone sending recurring client invoices. **3.
