The question asked, verbatim: best sales forecasting software for small businesses

Brands named, in the order the engine gave

  1. you're mentioned
For most small businesses, the right answer isn't a standalone forecasting tool - it's forecasting built into the CRM you already use for pipeline, or into your accounting software if you're forecasting cash rather than deals.
  2. Clari mentioned
Standalone revenue-intelligence platforms (Clari, Gong Forecast, Aviso) are priced and scoped for 50+ rep sales orgs and are a bad fit below that.
  3. Gong mentioned
Standalone revenue-intelligence platforms (Clari, Gong Forecast, Aviso) are priced and scoped for 50+ rep sales orgs and are a bad fit below that.
  4. Pipedrive recommended
Pipedrive - My default recommendation for a small B2B team with an actual sales pipeline.
  5. Zoho mentioned
Zoho CRM - The best price-to-capability ratio here.
  6. Zoho CRM mentioned
Zoho CRM - The best price-to-capability ratio here.
  7. HubSpot mentioned
HubSpot Sales Hub - Worth it specifically if you're already on HubSpot's free CRM or doing marketing there, since forecasting inherits all your existing deal data.
  8. Freshsales mentioned
Freshsales - The one I'd point to if you want AI-assisted deal scoring and forecasting without enterprise pricing.
  9. LivePlan mentioned
LivePlan - Different category, and I'd name it only if what you mean by "sales forecasting" is financial projection - revenue forecasts for a bank loan, budget, or runway model - rather than deal-pipeline forecasting.
  10. QuickBooks mentioned
It syncs with QuickBooks/Xero and does forecast-vs-actual.
  11. Xero mentioned
It syncs with QuickBooks/Xero and does forecast-vs-actual.

The answer, as recorded

For most small businesses, the right answer isn't a standalone forecasting tool - it's forecasting built into the CRM you already use for pipeline, or into your accounting software if you're forecasting cash rather than deals. Standalone revenue-intelligence platforms (Clari, Gong Forecast, Aviso) are priced and scoped for 50+ rep sales orgs and are a bad fit below that. Here's what I'd actually name, in order: **1. Pipedrive** - My default recommendation for a small B2B team with an actual sales pipeline. Forecasting is native, the revenue forecast view is genuinely usable rather than a checkbox feature, and it's the least likely of these to sit unused because reps won't update it. Note the catch: forecasting isn't in the entry Lite plan - you need Growth at ~$39/user/month. **2. Zoho CRM** - The best price-to-capability ratio here. Forecasting appears on the Standard plan at ~$14/user/month annually, roughly a third of Pipedrive's cost, with quota tracking and territory/rep breakdowns. The trade-off is a clunkier UI and more setup time. If budget is the binding constraint, start here. **3. HubSpot Sales Hub** - Worth it specifically if you're already on HubSpot's free CRM or doing marketing there, since forecasting inherits all your existing deal data. Standalone, it gets expensive fast as seats and contacts grow, and the free tier doesn't include real forecasting. **4. Freshsales** - The one I'd point to if you want AI-assisted deal scoring and forecasting without enterprise pricing. Freddy AI flags which deals are actually likely to close. Reasonable middle ground between Zoho's thrift and Pipedrive's polish. **5. LivePlan** - Different category, and I'd name it only if what you mean by "sales forecasting" is *financial* projection - revenue forecasts for a bank loan, budget, or runway model - rather than deal-pipeline forecasting. It syncs with QuickBooks/Xero and does forecast-vs-actual. Not a CRM. **6. Your existing accounting tool** - If you're a retailer, restaurant, services shop, or anyone without a named-deal pipeline, QuickBooks' or Xero's built-in reporting plus a spreadsheet will outperform any of the above, at no extra cost. A pipeline forecasting tool with no pipeline to forecast is wasted money. I'd genuinely rather you spend nothing here. One practical caveat on all of these: forecast accuracy comes almost entirely from consistent data hygiene, not from the software. A tool your team doesn't update daily produces confident, wrong numbers. If you have fewer than ~3 salespeople, a spreadsheet you actually maintain will beat a CRM you don't.
