The answer, as recorded

Short answer up front: "agency" splits into three very different jobs - reselling loyalty as your own SaaS to SMB clients, implementing loyalty for e-commerce clients, and building custom programs for enterprise clients. Here's what I'd actually name for each. ## If you want to resell it as your own product (recurring revenue, SMB/local clients) **1. Boomerangme** - the clearest fit, and where I'd start. It's explicitly built as "loyalty-as-a-service in a box" for digital agencies: sub-accounts for each client, white-label branding, your own pricing and currencies, your own payment gateway. The Agency tier is ~$129/mo, with white-label starting on the $99 Business plan - cheap enough that two or three clients cover it. Digital stamp cards/push notifications, so it suits restaurants, salons, gyms, retail - not DTC e-commerce. **2. Kangaroo Rewards** - better if your clients are real retail/POS businesses. White-labelled branded mobile app per client, integrated with Lightspeed, Shopify POS, WooCommerce, Magento. Heavier and pricier than Boomerangme, but more credible for multi-location retail, wellness, and food service. **3. Marsello** - worth a look if your clients are on Lightspeed specifically; it offers a white-labeled option and skews apparel/fashion retail. ## If you implement for Shopify / DTC clients **4. Smile.io** - my default recommendation for most client work. Only loyalty platform holding both Built for Shopify and Shopify Technology Partner certs, fastest setup, usable free tier, ~$49/mo. Best fit for clients in the $500K-$10M revenue range. A well-designed program here beats a badly designed one on a platform costing 30x more. **5. LoyaltyLion** - step up to this for $10M+ clients who need tiering, deep API work, and a dedicated CSM. Starts around $1,500/mo, so only pitch it when the client's volume justifies it. **6. Yotpo** - the one to pick when the client wants reviews + loyalty + SMS consolidated under one vendor and one bill. Note the program is managed outside the Shopify admin, unlike Smile. ## If you build custom programs for enterprise clients **7. Open Loyalty** - API-first engine with 50+ prebuilt mechanics and on-premise deployment available; the strongest choice when you're the build partner and the client needs gamification at scale. **8. Talon. One** - pick this when promotions and discounting matter as much as points; its rules engine handles complex multi-condition offers better than anything else on this list. **9. Voucherify** - the pragmatic API-first option: promotions, coupons, referrals and loyalty unified, usage-based pricing, fast to integrate. Good when you don't want an enterprise contract. **10. Antavo** and **White Label Loyalty** - both enterprise loyalty clouds. One caveat on White Label Loyalty: it gives you the rules engine and SDK, but someone has to build the customer-facing app and UI. That's a liability for a client with no eng team - and an opportunity if that build is billable work for you. **My pick if I had to choose one:** Boomerangme if the business model is reselling, Smile.io if the business model is client services.
